Hi folks. I'm a newbie here and Ive enjoyed reading the posts.

I'm an 8.1 index, playing an old(?) TM r510 with Blue stiff shaft. I hit every club in my bag straight except the driver, which is erratic but, for the most part, fades.

I've been interested in a draw bias driver but don't want to fork over $$$. My question for the group is: Can I tape a couple nickels where the screws on the r7 go? They're 5 grams apiece (I looked it up!). I figure I can effectively create the draw bias externally by adding the 10 grams and shifting the CG lower and left.

Does anybody see a flaw in this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Just use lead tape as a trial. Nickels would probably fall off or at least sound real funny. Try 10 little strips of lead tape, or even 5.

I thought I read in Golf Digest once that it would take almost half a roll of lead tape to get 10 grams of weight. Thats the only reason I thought of the nickels.

Maybe I could tape the nickels down with lead tape ;)

Sorry but this is just my opinion. Its cool that companies have figured out how to cure slices and hooks by the use of certain clubs, but it really irks me that technology is making it so people dont need to develop a proper swing in order to really hit the ball well. This may not be the thing for you since it looks like you are a pretty good golfer, so I truly think that your driver problem is purely mental, seems to me like you expect to slice and as long as you are expecting to chances are that you probably will. But I would imagine that adding weight of some sort would work if thats the way that you really want to go.
