Hi everyone,

Looking to start playing more golf this season.  Play Nike Covert 2.0's that I bought new a couple of seasons ago. I found this site helpful when making my purchase. I don't have a driver in the bag yet, the last lesson I took, ( 2 years ago),  the instructor suggested I get one because the newer ones are  easier to hit than the old models.  Last time I kept a driver in my bag was from a set I bought twenty years ago.  Any thoughts?  Oh, one more question given all the online sites for clubs and such which ones are reputable?

Welcome to the site. I have had good luck with E-Bay. Just make sure that the seller is in the US and that they have 100% or close to 100% positive feedback. There are a couple of major sites like 2ndSwing Golf, 3 Balls and the PGA Trade-In Network that actively sell on E-Bay. Make sure they have good pictures and the driver comes with a wrench.

Best of luck.

I'd agree on Ebay. Had very good luck there with used clubs. But do your homework. Good photos that show the whole club (head & grip) reduce surprises.

Drivers (even a few years 'used') are a more forgiving than the average of 10 years ago. It may be worth an upgrade.

    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
