Increased Putter Length

Recently increased the length of my putter shaft by about 3 inches , allowing me to stand straighter . I developed back problems and doctor suggested I do everything possible to minimize the number of times I have to bend over in a round . Also went to an over sized grip . Has anyone experimented with this , and if so , should I make any adjustments ? Haven't been healthy enough to play until this weekend .

Perhaps you could have the shaft angle changed in a way that would allow you to have your head straight over the ball while standing straighter.

I got fitted a while back to 35.5" for the length. I felt much more comfortable in that position. But the fitter also adjusted my lie angle to 68 degree after doing aiming tests. The loft was set to 5 degrees. If you can get fit, you will be pleased with how much your aim improves. My fitting cost $75 IIRC. The fitter used a laser to confirm my aim. 

The fitting, along with AimPoint, gives me a lot of confidence in my putter. All I think about is speed.

I switched up to a 35 in. putter about 10 yrs ago. It improved my putts and my back.
