I'm looking for a 25 degree 5 hybrid to go with my Adams A3 boxer 19 degree 3 hybrid. I can't hit the 3 hybrid off the deck so I use it to tee off on shorter par 4's and it works great. For some reason but was hitting some 5 hybrids at the store pretty straight about 175-180 carry with a 20 yard roll. I don't want to spend more than $100 so the Adams A3 boxer is out (picked up the 3 for $60 used). Can someone give me some suggestions on good alternatives that are easy to hit? So far I'm thinking

Sports Authority had the Adams A2 OS Hybrid in 5 iron for $79 bucks here locally. Online they dont list them. If you have one near by, you might want to stop in. I grabbed one.

Just say NO to hybrids. I'd rather work to become more accurate with my woods and long irons.

Why? Technology has changed. I would much rather have a club that I can hit longer and straighter. Do people still want to use other older equipment?

As of now, I've got no hybrid in the bag. Although, I've got to admit I'm extremely tempted to get one. I've tried hybrids before, and I thought I would get over them, but they've seem to have stayed in mind. I've got no problems with long irons, so there's no need for a change. I am however, thinking of changing the 5 wood for a hybrid. It's been a thought for quite some time now, although I'm still not quite positive about it ...

I've got a Taylormade Rescue TP(3 iron) and I love it. At first it was extremely hard to handle because it is made for better players but once I got it down it became my best friend. I'm really surprised how well I can hit the ball out of deep rough with it.

I have a steel shafted 4 that came with my MX950's, really started to like it.
So last night I found an Adams 16* Tour Proto used and was hitting the heck out of it, so I snagged it. But, I think I will have to return it as the shaft is xstiff and I am just not hitting it straight w/o over compensating. Dang! So I am going to try and find another a little higher loft.
As of now, I'd like to have 3-5 hybrids. Not sure if I will gof or matching ones or just try to find various ones that work.

    • The course is playing tough. We’re only about 50 miles away. It very windy here and going to get worse. They’re all dressed like it’s the British Open!
    • Have posted in a while or practiced for that matter. Dealing with a few medical issues. But I was able to practice and film today. I’ve played 5 times this year. Misses have been pulls or heavy shots. I feel this has a lot to do with my lower back issues. When I feel good, I get good rotation and I hit the ball well. Today I felt good. Hips and lower back felt nice and flexible. I worked mainly on the hands feeling from the top. The club head should feel like it’s going down and away from the ball and target at the start of the downswing. The right knee should stay a little flexed at the top. These are the only swing thoughts other than high hands (arms going up) I’ve been focused on. I did PW, 6 iron and Driver today. Here is PW. The hands look better as does the knee in the rehearsal. The knee gets more straight in the actual swing.   My left arm is not straight at impact, which it has never really been. But that’s not the focus of this practice.   6 iron looks better than last time. Driver also looks better than last time. Playing tomorrow. Hopefully my body will cooperate.

    • The way to practice this is not at full speed, even if you do manage to "change" something. But no, not quite like that. That's a late lift, but you still have the early roll, and you stand up too much in that swing (likely in trying to "lift" — the "lift" is relative to your torso, not the ground).
