Conveying 'culture' without mis-representing it through written word takes a certain level of talent. Don't take my word to heart but you, amongst many of us, seem to miss the mark a lot. But hammer away at the keyboard anyway. It's an open forum right? 

I have been to UK a few times and don't believe the entire populous is tone deaf.

I'll second what @GolfLug said, and caution you against speaking for the entirety of the UK. You're hardly a great representative of the UK folks, @paininthenuts.
