I really cant get my head around it. My predicament is that i am looking to build some new irons. In a previous thread i was looking at hybrid irons but after really working on my swing im leaning away from those now.

I've looked at the threads on here about what folks think offset does and im still non the wiser.

Im looking to replace my 2008 model Wilson Staff Di9 but i cant find any offset measurments other than "moderate". What would you class as moderate?

My other set of irons (which are up for sale) are Titeleist 695mb, and as an example the offset of the 7 iron is 0.110" (or 2.79mm).

The clubs i am looking to build are either:

Synchron Vespa - 7 iron is 3mm offset

ACER XF/XV Standard - 7 iron is 6.5mm

ACER XF Pro - 7 iron 2.6mm

What would you guys class as "moderate" offset. If it helps my miss is a slight straigght push "right hander"

Any input would ber really appreciated.

Don't worry about offset. Focus on how the clubs perform for you. Look at launch, flight and spin, feel at impact, sound and looks.

Offset is just a part of head design that includes a bunch of dimensional measurements and mass characteristics used to optimize launch and spin.

Think of it as where are the puting the center of gravity of the head. Lower and further back (offset) changes launch. Slower swing speeds need a bit higher launch to optimize distance.

To second what @boogielicious said, offset just helps some people align the club better and has a small role in the performance based on where the CG is, etc.

Just choose the clubs that perform best for you, from alignment to ball flight.
