This might sound silly but is it possible for irons to be bent with a steep swing? Couple in my set seem a bit uneven at the bottom of the hosel leading to the sole but not sure if the scuffs are making it look that way or if it's from the lie angle being adjusted at the fitting.

Take a photo looking from the grip to the club head. Eyes can be deceptive when looking at tapered objects.

Damage can occur in a few manners, bag falling over, slamming the club down on a firm surface, impact during transport, etc.
It's highly unlikely the club hosel will bend other than at the neck. Forged clubs often require loft & lie adjustments, done in the neck area.
Regular golfing with clubs seldom causes damage of the hosel. Only mistreated equipment is susceptible to mishaps.

Shine those babies up Davey and they will look good as new .....

Cheers! It's more from the hosel to the face along the bottom edge. Looks a bit squint but could be the scuffs.

When in doubt a quick stop by a decent golf shop.

He lives in Scotland, not many golf stores out in the rural areas over there.
