I went to golf galaxy today to do their ball fitting. Well here are the numbers

Club: Cobra Speed LD/F 3 Wood 15.5* Stiff (i use this as my driver)
Ball: Bridgestone E6
Swing Speed: 99mph
Ball Speed: 151.4mph
Carry: 248yds
Total: 260yds
Backspin: 4011rpm (is this more than normal?)
Deviation: 1.9*L

these were averages over ten swings. after it was all said and done my ball of choice with 50% accuracy and 50% distance was Top Flight D2 Distance. Huh, i would have never have guessed. But the computer showed if i were using the top flight with those same swings my total distance would have been over 280yds. I think it was well worth the info for $20.

Man, I hate those new-fangled computer simulator things... it always makes me wonder what the real thing would have done everytime I go to Parmasters.

Anyways, let me be the first to say, if you are landing 250+ yards with your 3-wood, you are smashing it in my book.

Second... can you really get an average out of 10 swings? 100 balls at the driving range doesn't even seem like enough to me sometimes.

All-in-all though, it sounds like your money was worth the info. And on a side note... if on average you only deviate your drives 1.9* from dead-center, you are damned accurate in my book also.

Launch Angle is missing but I'm guessing it's near 12 degrees based on the other numbers (See

Launch Monitor Chart ) In regards to the spin, there really isn't a normal because it's only one factor in the whole picture. The spin is higher than than optimal but with a low launch angle it will balance out most of the time. If the launch monitor was calibrated well then these are good numbers with a 3-wood.
