keep your head still - that is nonsense that will loose you distance unless you are currently all over the place


the guy probably gained distance because he put in the practice. the way you swing looking in a mirror and the way you swing while looking at a golf ball are different - you cannot look at both places at once - you can guarantee that your swing in the mirror will look great - it may give you confidence but keep your head still is the worst advice in the world! might as well say keep your left arm straight.
