Brandel gets a lot of flack for his views on certain subjects, but a number of years ago (pre-golf channel) he used to write a column for Golf World Magazine or Golf Week Magazine (I had a subscription to both and don't remember which one he was with).

In one particular column he was talking about the amount of product Tour players receive after recently going through his closet and noticing how many pairs of golf shoes he had accumulated.  I don't remember off the top of my head how many it was, but it was something like 40 or 50 pairs of shoes...whatever it was, it was a lot.  He didn't realize he had that many, some of which had never been worn.  He decided to give most of them away, and wrote in his article that if you wore a size 9D (or whatever it was) and wanted a pair of shoes, just send him a note with your mailing address and he would send a pair of FootJoy Classics (I'm 99% sure he covered the cost of shipping them too).

I thought it was a classy move.
