Not exactly inundating the site with conversation.  Did you select another venue?  Other than @Loose Cannon, the balance of the crew seems to have moved on.

That would be sad, I hope they haven't jumped ship. Seem like a good gang.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

I had no idea "experienced sheep" were a big thing in the...dairy state.

The old site is still up.  Very little activity, but we were a small "family".  I do believe some of the others have become active on another golf discussion board.  Most certainly, do not take that as anything negative against The Sand Trap.  Where we had such a small number of members, some have probably chosen to stick together.

Shot Talk, since it had seemed to become such a small family, saw most of us casting barbs back and forth that we would never dare do in a larger group setting.  Yes, the Wisconsonites and Canadians were often reminded that sheep were for food and wool and not "recreation".  We have a few "ferinjers"... Ireland, South Africa, Australia, Arizona, etc.

I've recently... in late February... retired.  Between trying to play 18 holes 7-days/week, take the dog for a 4-mile walk after the 18, keep up with lawn and other household chores, make multiple daily log-ons to Facebook and check of kids/grandkids, it doesn't leave a substantial amount of time to post anywhere.  And. there is a rumor that I get just a little "wordy" with my posts.

We have some feelers out about a couple of members purchasing the site.  Currently, the site owners want entirely too much.  If the site should fold, who knows whether we will all abandon ship or start a new discussion board.  In the meantime, I'll keep passing through and post now and again.  If I can't find time, I may just teach the Black Lab to punch keys and let her post for me.

    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
