I am looking for a practice net rolling system. I cannot have a cage/net installed at all time and I am looking for net on a rolling tube ( like a Roller shade). I found on you tube a video of a retractable net but would like to see if any one heard about this kind of product. Thank you.

Do a search here - lots of threads on indoor ranges, practice nets, etc.

Mine is just tarp and blanket hung from a PVC frame.  It rolls up and stores just fine.

Cheap and easy to make.  Leave the bottom loose so it 'catches' without holes...(some flex is necessary)2017-04-13 15_06_19-Bill Rehm.jpg2017-04-13 15_06_32-Bill Rehm.jpg2017-04-13 15_06_44-Bill Rehm.jpg

If I did it over again, I'd just have clamps and blanket and not all the rest.  Simple is better.  It's not rocket science.

I have a Rukket net.   It isn't rolling but can easily be put up in under 5 minutes.   It works very well.

Many, many years ago. I remember window shades with a pull string. The shade was wrapped around a wooden tube with some sort of interior spring mechanism. It should not be difficult to substitute the windows shade with a net. There are modern shade cloths that function in the same manner, but a little more intricate. The biggest problem I see with the idea is how to suspend it, since  you do not have a window frame to mount it in. Another idea would be the old motion picture screens that would roll up inside a cylinder.  Like the ones used in High Schools in the fifties. OTOH, tinkering with this idea would probably cost more than simply buying a commercial one.

Thank you guys. The product I found on you tube is called Golf ripin :

Have you heard about someone using this product?

Yep, just like the movie screens used in High School. In this case, easily suspended from the ceiling. I had a little trouble locating the web site with order details, but the unit sells at North of $1,000  choices of white net, black net, extra long net for ceilings higher than ten feet. Looks like net by itself is around $249 then add that to cost of the entire unit and shipping and you are as high as $1289.

Pretty lady in the ad.  It looks way too stiff to have much of a net life (suspect the replacement net is still very expensive.) and that stiffness looks like a disaster in containing the balls after impact.  Looser is better, even it appears less tidy at first.

Absolutely ridiculous to spend anything north of about $50 on something like a simple net to catch balls.  Mine was $20 plus a blanket/tarp.  I could make it pretty for less than $100 - even motorized.

Certainly no one every makes an account just for free drive by advertising.  But if they did, wouldn't this be a great opportunity to offer a couple through the Sandtrap for people to product review?  Or become a sponsor to the site.  Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Yeah, that would be neat.

One of my earlier versions of a net set up incorporated the use of heavy shade cloth. The balls would bounce off readily. Once to the side and over the roof of the house! I even managed to drive a perfect "hole" clean through the shade cloth with driver. Since then I use archery net. Nothing gets through.

I also could not help but notice, the videos and advertising site are in Orlando as is the OP. Whether or not they are an actual (paying) sponsor, I do not know, and really none of my business..

Same here, when I weighted down the bottom of the net (it just looked tidier) I took a 5i strike right through the net, you can see the hole in the wall left of the electrical outlet.  Now I let it flex (leave a lot of excess on the floor and unconstrained) and the balls are gathered gently and deposited on the bottom without any bounce - it's also quieter.

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.
