Spieth for example could take any wedge and most likely perform better than I ever will be able to. Which I'm sure you will agree to some extent. Just blows my mind at the cost! 

At least those wedges will last you for years. I used to break 200$ hockey sticks twice a week. At least in college, they were paid for, but to this day I don't know how my parents ever afforded to put me in hockey. I have no idea, even to this day, what they must have sacrificed on me between time, travelling, equipment, and multiple summer hockey schools. It never occurred to me until I was buying my own stuff. Don't get me wrong, I wont pay 2k for wedges either, but there are plenty who will because they can, and it's not like golf is a "poor mans" sport if you really want to play well.
