Soccer shoes? Seems like they would tear up the greens, so my answer would be no.

Carry on my wayward drive

There'll be pars when you are done

Lay your weary wedge to rest

Don't you shank no more

At Steel Canyon, yes. Anywhere else, no. :-P

Haha!

We played steel canyon few weeks ago after a long time. Love the 3rd hole (shoot from way up high).

Haven't been there is 7-8 years. They didn't have grass on that tee box last I played it. Fun little course ex the electricity running through your hair!

This ^^^^

A course may very well prohibit shoes such as those, just as most prohibit metal spikes.  Purely from a rules perspective though, Rule 14-3 and Appendix IV pertain.

Here's what Appendix IV has to say...

Shoes that assist the player in obtaining a firm stance may be worn. Subject to the conditions of competition, features such as spikes on the sole are permitted, but shoes must not incorporate features:

• designed to assist the player in taking his stance and/or building a stance;

• designed to assist the player with his alignment; or

• that might otherwise assist the player in making a stroke or in his play.

Thanks everyone for their help and input! I will not wear them.

Just to be clear in case there is any doubt, the shoes don't have metal "spikes". They are rubber. But i guess they are relatively large compared to the type on regular golf shoes.

Those don't look too different than a number of spineless shoes out there these days BUT since they're designed for soccer I'd be very hesitant to recommend them just because subtle differences in those spike shapes could be catastrophic for the greens.

Dude you should definitely go if you are still in the area. It's much improved. Still not the greatest mind you. I lived in Sandy Springs ~8yrs ago and played there quite a bit.

Still in Atl area?
