The Titleist 775s are about to be discontinued, which means they should be available at a substantive discount. They are great irons. Also, Cobra is discontinuing the FP line of irons. I know single digit handicap players who use this iron to great effect. I've tried it and like it a lot. These irons, as well as the 775s, should be a real bargain in the marketplace.

Anyone know when the 775CBs will be discontinued since I like the set and would love to see them on sale.

Titleist often introduces new products in the spring. I would look for the 775s to go on sale sometime in February or March.

glad you found a set you like the feel of. i am looking to change my irons later this year and the pro i go to pointed out the 775 as an option, if it pos could you let me know how you fined them after a month or two thanks. as for the wedges money no object vokey spin mill

I have used them for 3 days now, at this stage although it is obviously early on, is that the short irons are fantastic, 7-Pw. The 6 iron, ummm not bad, but the 3-5 iron I cannot seem to hit well at all at the minute.

Cannot get them up high at all, and am often miss-hitting them? I am putting it down to a change at this stage but will keep my eye on it. How much use I will get from the 3,4 iron I don't know as I was using my hybrid for that sort of distance with my old set. But, as I said, the 7-PW are excellent, good distance and forgiving.

I have the same irons and love them... the 6-GW are great, the 4-5 took me a couple buckets at the range to get used to, I wish they had a little less offset but once I adjusted slightly I now have no major problems with them... The only thing is that they play a little high for my liking... Overall it's a great set... I use a hybrid instead of a 3.

Currently in my 2008 Grom bag:

Driver: HiBore XL
Hybrid: Rescue Mid 19*
Irons: 775 cb 4-GWWedge: Vokey Spin Milled 58*Putter: "Callie"

Hi there,

Where can you pick up a 775s gap wedge? I cannot seem to get one in England? Also, what is the loft of it, 50 or 52? Thanks

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
