What is the usual pace of play on number 2 in September?

Pinehurst uses a significant number of "Player Assistants" to monitor pace of play and encourage slower groups to keep up.  In addition, many players will take caddies, and the caddies are trained to monitor pace of play.  I've played #2 maybe 4 or 5 times, and I don't ever remember it taking "too long" to play.  I'd expect your round should take 4 to 4-15 to play.  Why do you ask, are you concerned about making your dinner reservation, or just curious?

the only thing wrong with this car is the nut behind the wheel.

thanks for the info!

we have 2 groups of 4 playing at 2 pm in September.  I just wanted to make sure we would finish with time to spare before sunset.  Sounds like no issue, barring a hurricane!

I think you'll be fine. In your place, I'd make my dinner reservations for 8, to allow for a beverage and a shower. If you're dining at the resort, you'll have great food. If you need recommendations outside the resort, let me know.
