Hello everyone, i am a 10 handicap my drives are from 240-260 7 iron 165..the last 4 months i don't know what happen now i am struggling to get my drive 220 and my 7 iron 150!!! Side not i have been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck shoulder blade area about the same amount of time. I have been on a quest to find the reason of this sudden and dramatic change, based on some videos and reading i think i could have subconsciously began casting the club, anyone with any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks

The only times I've ever had a big distance loss, I found it to be: 1.) I'd quit making a good, full turn (hip); or 2.) I had shifted my lead-hand grip from my fingers (nearest my pinky) more into the pad area.  But in my non-expert/peanut-gallery opinion, it would almost have to be related to your medical issue, right?

Could be a lot of things. Ranging from excessive spin all the way to your mechanics. The pinched nerve in your neck and shoulder could be just because you're trying too hard to get your distances back.

Thanks for the reply, I think that has a lot to do with it

I am guessing the pinched nerve is not allowing to make a good turn through impact. You might be doing more of an arm swing than when you had your normal distance.

The human body has a great, subconscious way protecting itself from further pain, injury.

Hello patch, i think you are correct!i have not played in about 3 weeks as i was playing 2-3 times a week never allowing healing to take place ..i am not able to turn how i should because at a certain point during my back swing i start to feel  pain.
