I literally created an account just to respond to your post (albeit a year late), after having spent hours upon hours, upon days upon days, of my time trying to find a Nike Vapor Fly Pro 2-iron.  I was actually placing an order for the club and was interrupted towards the end of the call, and had to call back the next business day to redo the transaction. You know what that next day was (unbeknownst to me)? The day Nike Golf went out of business. My begs and pleas to Nike's reps (and the reps of every 3rd-party re-saler of Nike clubs) were uniformly rejected, and it's haunted me ever since because I haven't found a worthwhile (much less comparable) 2-iron to fullill the purpose of the VFP in the 2 years since that all happened.

Well, I don't know if you've perhaps been fortunate enough to actually get your hands on a VFP 2i since your post—if so, I BEG YOU to please let me know if you know where I may be able to still get one, no matter how unlikely—but I've finally found a club that serves the same exact purpose, and actually feels and hits BETTER! For me at least, that club is the Taylormade GAPR Lo 2-iron (17-degree default, though I adjust mine a degree strong using the wrench that comes with the club). It's definitely not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination, and is probably way overpriced to be completely honest, but I can't get over how perfect that club is off the tee and fairways. 250+ yards from that club has eliminate the destruction my score usually faces from being forced to confront my biggest weakness every round (driver), out of necessity since I have no other club to really travel far enough on very certain holes.

I definitely recommend you go try out the GAPR, and if you have any leads at all on a Nike Vapor Fly Pro 2-iron please let me know, cheers!

I've found in life that the simple act of shaking as many hands as possible, as often as possible, can make all the difference when you need favors. I know a TM guy from a relatively recent round of golf we simply let him join up with our threesome. Exchanged cards after the round and then about a month ago I learned about the GAPRs and decided to shoot him an email asking about them. Out of the blue, he asked if instead of telling me about the GAPR, I'd be interested in just trying them out over another round. So of course I took him up on it and tested out the Lo and Mid a few weeks back, and decided I had to have the GAPR Lo (by the way, I have no idea why, but I consistently hit the GAPR Mid at least as bad, if not worse, than any other golf club I've ever hit in my life).

Also, far far more shockingly, I actually managed to get my hands on a nearly new Nike Vapor Fly Pro 2i, and for just $140! I know you may wonder how I got one and how for so cheap, and here's my my advice (i.e., what I did): Go to eBay, enter in the search bar "Vapor Fly Pro 2" [DO NOT PRESS SEARCH YET THOUGH], before you hit search click "Advanced" next to the search button, scroll all the way down to "Locations," click the second option down ("From preferred locations") and choose "Worldwide," NOW click the search bar. This is how you'll find it because they're apparently much more readily available, and for a much more reasonable price, in other countries than they are here in the U.S. And in case you're also interested, for me, it's hard to believe the Vapor Fly Pro is even a 2-iron, because I hit it just as easily and consistently as a regular ole 5-iron, except I can get 240+ out of the Vapor Fly Pro (which actually even outperforms the GAPR Lo).

    • For someone with a very consistent swing speed and ball strike, upgrades may improve performance. For everyday golfers, probably not. I'm a rather odd player. I usually get best performance from basic pro or tour heads, but with lighter stock shaft from the model's standard driver set up. (Yes, current EXS is an exception.) When I get a full driver fitting, I usually try a couple of modest upgrade  (not super magic) shafts. Most of the time upgrade gives a couple of extra yards, or 10 yards less. Remember this about stock shafts: They are matched to a particular driver model to fit the type of player likely to adopt that model. Also, most OEMs offer a variety of stock shafts in their drivers. Test for which one works best. And, the final decider...
    • Uh, seeing you're having trouble with hit-and-miss performance from inherited clubs... Get Fitted! IF the 910H pair don't work, swap them out. Also, only two degrees separation in loft is not much. You might consider a 4W (much more reliable than a 3W) plus hybrid. This would give more distance separation than two Hs. For hybrid, get one you can hit... Maybe a more benevolent 4H. Quite often I try to brand match my bridge clubs (FWs and Hs), and my irons and wedges... but not always. Whatever works!
    • Like others have said, get fitted. Since 2011, I have played some combination of 4W + 7W. I had a Cobra 3H and 4H a couple of years back, and would swap out the 7W for a 3H in cold months (keep out of cold wind, and rough thinner for wayward drives.) The 7W matched up with yardage often with 3H; the current 4H goes almost as long as 7W, but has a lower trajectory. 4H also bumped out 4i in last bag redo; I learned to hit stinger with 4H so that's my driving iron on tight holes with shallow landing area. Again, a side-by-side test will tell you which way to go. If 5W or 3H is meh, keep the 7W. Also, are you looking to replace the 7W with a 5W or 3H, or add a second bridge club (5W or 3H) to your bag?
    • Makes sense and aligns with other literature. Static stretching, especially for longer durations, can impede performance in strength and power activities. I would not want to do like hamstring, quad, and calf stretches then go immediately sprint. To me that sounds like a terrible Idea. I would rather start off walking, then jogging, then running, then ramp up to sprinting.  To me, static stretching isn't even a warmup activity. I like the term warmup; you want to get some exertion going before the activity.      a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; }
    • Going to Florida for the usual February golf trip, and with our current weather, that date won't get here soon enough. Heading to Augusta GA for the Tuesday Master's practice round, will definitely get some golf in while I'm in the area for a few days. Hope to be able to catch up with @coachjimsc if he's around. Then it's back to Scotland first of July.  Playing 7 new courses, can't wait for that.  Then somewhere after that is the Rhode Island CC Member-Guest and then my normal October golf trip to Myrtle Beach.
