I'm looking at getting a Garmin watch. My local sporting goods store has two watches to choose from an approach g10 and an approach s20. Is anyone familiar with either watch and the features they offer. When I read the descriptions online they seem to be basically the same. Thanks in advance.

I use the S2, which is a bit older. Suits my needs. No topography, reads front, middle, back, 150 and 250 lay ups, dog legs, shot measure, odometer for jogging, about 30,000 courses loaded into it plus you can download updates. I use it for regular watch also. Battery life good for about 2 rounds, otherwise 3 weeks as a wrist watch. charges with computer, or wall plug accessory.  Lightweight and unobtrustive, hardly know you are wearing it. Easy to glance at and nobody notices you.

I still use the S1. My only advise to you would be keep it simple. Yardages to front, middle, and back. If you need more than that get a full function hand held as the watch faces are too small for too many bells and whistles. I love my S1, I don't even know where I put my old hand held GPS, I haven't used it in a long time.
