Cutting Down Driver Shaft Length

I wonder what advantage he would see over his 4i? He hits straight so I’d have to guess it’s to hit fairways and greens more often?

My driver is only 43” or the length of my 3W and it only flies 10 to 15 yards farther because of the lower spin, but loving the straighter shots. Admittedly, my aim is not that great yet, but great for hitting more greens.

I would also guess the OPs swing is like 20 degrees outside in so if he shortens the driver then puts it near the middle of hit stance he could see straighter shots?
