"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 196 (14 Nov 24) - Another get some work in before the rain (started around noon), so I kept it simple.  Worked with the 50 - open face, square face, ball in middle, front, back - coupled with staying in the pre-shot process. Just to prove the process works - did a quick step in and swing - much poorer shot results.  Really enjoyed those little 10-15 yard chip and rolls that finish nicely in the circle of friendship….

Day 120: did a stack session.

Day 304 - Back to the basics that I’ve been working on - grip work and a flat wrist at the top of the (longer, wider) backswing.

Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.

Day 46 - 2024-11-15

Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.

Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.

Day 121: did a bit of mirror work with my driver. Working on shortening the backswing.

Day 47 - 2024-11-16

Light backswing work with about 3 or 4 rehearsals for every ball hit. Only about ten minutes while waiting for a potential member to show up (he was 25 minutes late). 😛

Day 198 (16 Nov 24) - A little backyard pitching fun with the grandson with wedges, foam balls today.  Love working with him on short game drills.  Priceless is the word.

Day 306 - More of the same focus, grip and backswing. Used the Divot Board to see how group contact was, and as expected, half the time I wasn't even making contact with the board.

Day 199 (17 Nov 24) - Hit a few wedge shots in the back yard this afternoon - focused on NOT-decelerating into impact along with the normal pre-shot process.  Got much check on the balls when they landed.

A little work before Junior Elite. Left thumb and the compensating left wrist are better; still not great.

Day 307 - Mirror swings, focusing on rotation. That seems to take pressure off my lead hip.

Day 200 (18 Nov 24) - Broke out the MacGregor blades to do some “vintage” club pitches and chips.  Focus was on alignment and where I am looking in relation to the ball…have been working on finding a focal point about 3-6 inches ahead of the ball (toward the target) and not staring at the ball.  Getting very predictable strikes.  Overall it was a fun drill session and will serve as a warmup to tomorrow’s planned front 9 walk with these irons and persimmon woods and of course a “new” putter - a Acushnet Bullseye…

Day 49 - 2024-11-18

Light day of HackMotion work in the basement with my putting. Suffice to say my feels very closely align with what is measured.

Day 124: went to the range at lunch. Worked on driver and getting feels for a shorter backswing. It feels like I’m taking a half swing, but it looks pretty decent on camera.

Day 308 - Worked on putting my grip/backswing work together with some better hip rotation in the downswing.
