One of the things I like doing is when I see something being promoted by others at highly inflated prices, is to "sort of" duplicate it myself for a fraction of the cost. It's kind of a hobby of mine.

Golf has alot of high priced training aids to work with.

I once made a shag stick out of some old pvc pipe I had laying around. Held 48 balls. Cost me $0.89 for a cap.

Alot of us have built our own practice nets, that saved us some coin.

I saw an advertisement for a chipping/pitching folding, basket net $29.95 was the selling price. Not a bad price. I had an old collapsible camping chair that had seen better human butt supporting days. It did basically the same thing for $9.95 if I were to buy one new. The child size one's work best, as they are about the right height for chips..

My favorite one is a piece of metal 6 inches wide by 16 inches long. I had a friend with a Shop Smith put a arc in it. I then glued some synthetic turf to one side. The bowed arc, and turf gave me a base to hit irons off of, that would depress when struck by an iron, but would also spring back up to it's normal position. Cost me a six pack, and maybe $5.00 in parts. Yes, the turf wears out, but the metal plate retains it's spring board effect for quite a while.

A friend of mine bought a three wheel trolley at a yard sale. $15.00. It was a baby stroller, that he turned into a golf bag trolley. If not for the larger diameter bike wheels, you can't tell the difference.

There are a lot of ideas out there.

    • I’m thinking maybe Jason Day read my post. He’s sitting a -3 two off Rory and Burns.
    • Is it only the weekend broadcasts that have a low commercial count?  I feel like it has been a long while since I last watched a Thursday of the Masters, so maybe my recollection is off.  I feel today has a lot more than four minutes per hour of commercials, and far fewer of the fun stories they tell during the Sunday broadcast.
    • I mean, I do slide my hips like 7 inches towards the target before impact. PGA Tour average is like 3 inches. I’m not Scottie Scheffler who can get away with it. 🤣 He slides a ton.  For me, I have to feel like I basically just turn. Though, I’m probably over exaggerating a bit with that one video because I’m really trying to push off with the left leg which sends the hip backwards. Ideally, I would be able to get my weight over to the outside of my left foot at impact and into the finish. It’s probably OK that I can slide about 7 inches as long as it’s like only three by impact.
    • Day 32 (9 Apr 26) - Grandson is on spring break- puts in to play 9 at our home course.  Used it to work on top of horizon target point for drives and approaches…i.e. pick landing zone (fairway, green) , an intermediate target point and finally what standout feature do I want to hit “over” on the horizon (tall pine, home top, flag pole).    Better l-r dispersion w/5 of 7 drives in the short grass.  Nice little addition to the pre-shot routine.
    • I managed to get the full afternoon to watch (Pacific time, so the ESPN broadcast began at noon).  I just saw the first shot I feel like commenting on:  Adam Scott's tee shot on #16 was really good, especially after having what might be the worst kind of Maltese Falcon on #15.    I didn't used to like him, but the past few years he's grown on me quite a bit.
