Hi there. New to the forum so not sure if this has already been out there. Going away for a 3 day golf break soon and I am the 'Keeper of the spreadsheet'. The spreadsheet we use at the moment is one that I devised but still involves too much manual input and prove to human error. Therefore, was wondering whether there was something ready made out there. 12 of us in the group and we normally have singles, pairs & team comps. If not, then I'll hone my spreadsheet skills!!

For something like that you may consider TheGrint.   They have a free option.

Hi I run a competition each week where up to 120 players play in the season. Each week we play an individual stableford where the top 5/6 players win. As a result the winners are peanalised  shots for a number of weeks (first 4, second 3...) in addition the shots penalty depends on handicap category so Div 1 = 1 shot thru to Div 4 4 shots.

The penalty remains until the player has played for the required number of weeks. If the player misses a week the penalty moves on.

I manually input the scores each week which takes about an hour. I am looking for ways to automate the input of scores and then calculate the penalties. Can you help?

I attach the spreadsheet,

    • So hit the😝 irons crooked AND play layup golf?? Hahaha.. no thanks. I would rather stay home. 😊
    • First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.
    • Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
    • Day 31: 3/10/25 Backswing drills with the ProSendr. Reinforcing iron play from yesterday.
