Getting older and weaker. Was lucky to obtain a brand new iron set of 850 nippon regular” iron shafts. I got three iron sets all “stiff”. 825 Mizunos, Wilson FG62 blades, and Mizuno MP 57’s. I hit the Wilson blades the best. Hdcp 15 and I don’t hit it far. 5 iron: 160 yds. I want to use the iron heads from one of theses sets on the 850’s. Got any ideas?

I am MUCH older and fighting weakness due to RA and rotator cuff problems Anyway, I put the Nippon shafts in my forged MX-200 irons. The lighter shafts gave me a little speed that helped. Can't tell you WHICH set to re-shaft (I'm now using graphite), but you will be pleased with the shaft. I would suggest however you put them in the iron you feel most confident with. Best wishes, -Marv

Aloha Marv, this helps and your response is appreciated. I’m sold on reshafting the Wilson FG62s. Thank you.

You're welcome. My fitter who installed them for me said Nippon makes the most consistent steel shafts and that they are easier to fine tune, spine align, frequency tune, etc. than others. Good luck! Best, -Marv

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
