Hi Everyone,

I am new to the game of golf. So I've joined this form with the hopes of becoming more educated a bout again and learn new techniques that could help me one day become a good golf player.

I got my first set of clubs from a friend when he was cleaning out his basement. They were old, so I figured I could just get them cleaned. At the shop, the owner advised me not to clean he clubs and get a newer set.  A few months later a woman who I had just met gave me hers because she wasn't really into playing. I got excited about playing. But tonight I figured it would be a good idea to learn more about my golfs and the background of golf.

For the last two hours, I have been looking up the information on a few of the clubs I originally received. However, I am unable to find anything on one of the clubs. So, I decided to post something here hoping someone would be able to help me by identifying the golf club so I would know what to search for while surfing the internet.

I've attached the picture. If you know the maker of this club, please.

This is a laminated maple club. I would guess it is from the 60's or 70's. The name on the top, Herman Barron was a golfer of some note. He passed away in 1978. I had no luck in finding the actual maker; there were tons back then that made up clubs using stock heads, much as there are today.

It is worth about $5 or less in real money as a golf club, someone might pay $10 to use as a decoration. They are fun to hit and I keep a few around to take out now and then.

    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
    • It is a known technique, similar to the armed forces box technique. They use a 4x4 , in through the nose and out through the mouth. I use it to go to sleep fairly often. It works for me
