I got an Apple watch to to use the Arccos app to tie it all together. So my Arccos distances would be the same distances displayed/played on the course.  I found that the live distances were sometimes off a lot.  20 yards in some cases which caused me to question the whole thing.  That is what caused me to ask the question.

Your statement, that Game Golf is as accurate as your phone is the answer I guess I was looking for. If I was asked, is your phone as accurate as my Garmin unit I would say no.

My phone is accurate to within the normal GPS standards of +/- 3 yards.

Overcast weather, lots of trees, etc. can affect that… but I'm aware of the factors that can affect it and don't blame the GPS devices when that occurs.

I use a laser for my distances. GPS takes up more battery with less accuracy.

The ultimate solution to me is a product that tracks my round, allows me to pull my phone to judge carries by dragging a measuring point, allows me to make corrections on the fly and display a playable distance on my Apple watch.

GAME and Arccos can both do that. If you're finding that they're inaccurate, it's perhaps your phone model, or maybe it's just that you're in overcast conditions amidst trees or something, and satellite connection(s) are poor.

I have found Arccos to be pretty spot on as far as distance accuracy goes.    I mean, it uses your phone GPS, so it wont be any more or less accurate than any other service using phone GPS.   But, that said, I have a laser, and my arccos is never more than 2 yards different from the laser.

one question:  are you looking at the actual distance, or the "plays like" distance.   because "plays like accounts for wind and elevation.
