I purchased a Cleveland CG stand bag a few months ago. At first I was very pleased with the bag, it has great features and a 14-way top for club separation (which was my main reason for the purchase).  I was a little confused by the zipper inside the clothes storage compartment that opens into the bag main club area.  Now I have had the bag for a while, I think I know what it is for  😞 Often the clubs tend to conflict with other shafts so much that it is hard to seat the clubs fully in the individual sleeves. I've had the 3 wood affect seating the wedges.  Just guessing, but maybe the zipper is to access your shafts to try and straighten them out.

The separators need to extend farther down into the bag to alleviate the issue.

Thanks for posting.

OEM bag makers refer to that as 'full length' dividers. Even with that, sometimes the grips can hang up. I have a Titleist bag, made by Sun Mountain, and an older Sun Mountain bag, both with full length dividers. They still, on occasion, will hang up a bit.

Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately, this is more than occasional hanging up. They seem to conflict most of the time during the round.  I had a Nike bag previously that I can't remember ever having this issue.

    • Played the same course as yesterday today. 6,860 yards, 72.6. Scored better today. Shot a 37-38 for a 75 and did something I don't recall ever having done before. The par 5's run 522-646-523-557 and I birdied (or better) all of them. They only reason I turned in a respectable round was because I played them -5. I only hit one fairway on the front 9 and then hit 4 on the back. Only hit 9 greens today. I didn't hit the ball well at all today, but putted pretty decently. Just was in a weird swing funk. 8 bogies, 6 pars, 3 birdies, and an eagle.
    • Heavy rain from a squall was pounding down. I hit driver on #18 at Pierce Lake to the hole location back right. Probably 230 yards. I knew the shot was good but did not tarry and hustled over to some sheltering trees until the squall passed. Eventually the rain lessened a bit and I jogged over to the green. 6 feet. I missed the putt but the tee shot was still darn good.
    • They would murder my home course (Leslie Park). 6,611 yards/72.0/129. If someone can hit it 300-350 yards, there are multiple drivable par 4’s and all the par 5’s could be reached in two.
    • Day 1 - hit a few balls into net using 9i. Haven’t played but two rounds all year so needing to knock some dust off. Today just revisited some PP from the past (club back & up, extending trail arm)
    • Loving the deal I made.
