Does anyone know where I could purchase replacement putter inserts, starting a new hobby refurbishing damaged putters and also going to customise some

Why not make your own?  If you look around the house, a supermarket, or a hardware store, you can find all sorts of inexpensive materials.  Who wouldn't dig a putter with an insert custom crafted from a mayonnaise lid...or a piece of linoleum?

Just as an idea, I know guy who uses a putter made of a piece granite. I have seen putter heads made from molded hard wood.

I use to use fishing lead, and screws to add weight, or counter balance on some clubs back when I was tinkering with them..

I have seen copper BBs used for extra weight, and/or balance.

Check out my avatar for strange looking putter that is legal, and it works quite well.

That would still leave several tons of people.  One fat guy, like myself, could easily make up for two or three skinny dudes.
