  1. For those of you who care, here is what happened with my club championship. The rain killed our Saturday round, which was supposed to be the opening 18 holes of the 36-hole stroke play championship. So we played the first 18 today, and anyone who was in 10 of the leader, got to continue you on to the next 18. So onto my round: I get to the range to warm-up, and I'm snap hooking everything. After a week of doing this (irons, woods, etc.) I was pretty much fed up with it. And said WHAT THE ---- really loud and threw my club. Very rarely do I lose my temper, to be honest, but I was just so fed up that before the club championship was about tee off, I was snap hooking EVERYTHING. So I get out to the first tee, and just got back to the fundamentals, tempo, etc. and tried to block out my warm-up session. I did a solid job of it. I didn't hit the ball well by any means, but I scratched it around. With a double on the card, I made the turn at 40. Solid, I thought, not hitting it great (missed just abut every fairway on the front 9). So I go to 10, hit a very good drive, most solid of the day. PW to the middle of the green. You have to start off on 10 with a good hole, because 14-18 will KILL you on this course (get to that later...). So, I roll one in from 25-30 feet for birdie! I was pumped...I am -1 on the back 9 thru 12. I get to 13, hit a terrible snap hook, AGAIN. So, I end up three putting from about 15 feet from double bogey. Lipped out my bogey from 4 feet, just a poor overall hole. Go to 14...the start of the killer stretch as I call it. A 484 yd par 4. I am not a big hitter. I hit it about 260 off the tee...I can't even REACH this hole in two with a GOOD drive, now try hitting a drive off the end of the club...I hit a hybrid to about 50 yards short of the green. I pull my wedge, still not on the green. Clutch up and down for a 5...pretty happy with that. I figured the cut would be about 81, so I knew I needed to turn it up. I bogey 15 (470 yd par 4) in similar fashion as 14. I go to 16 knowing I need a good drive, don't get it. Another snap hook, Hit a hybrid again 30 yards short of the green. Hit a solid wedge that just rolls past the pin about 15 feet from the pin but in the 2nd cut of rough (fringe, 2nd cut, rough). I putt from it because of the contour of the green. Terrible shot, I am still 7 feet away for BOGEY. I LIP IT OUT!!! I was steeming. Not only was I unable to reach these holes in reg., but I was not getting any luck here!!! I go to 17, hit a terrific shot on this 210 yd par 3 with a 3 iron, and it rolls THROUGH the green. Now I'm in a terrible lie, just in the rough about 1-2 yds of the green. I end up with a bogey. 18 I par... I shoot 82 Not bad. Could've been better. Meanwhile, a guy shot 69 so I did not make the cut. I guess that WET, 6800 yd course really got to me...especially those consecutive par 4's 14-16 (484, 470, 455) and 17 is a 210 yd par 3... Whatever, always next year. P.S. I just realized, I typed out these details of my round. How many of you guys will read it? Probably none. hahahah ;)
  2. I was just at the store and most of the stuff there that they are selling pre-owned is in pretty good shape. There were some of the drivers that looked a bit rough and not taken care of too well, but for the most part not too bad. I wasn't too fond of their pre-owned prices though. Some seemed a bit high.
  3. No, I never give advice, and not to sound cocky or arrogant, because, seriously, I don't mean to come off this way at all, but I rarely get teamed up with players at the course that could give me advice. I play with a lot of players better then me, but there's only a few times I've actually been paired up with absolute strangers that are better then me...so as far as getting advice, not really. I never give advice to people because I don't feel it's my place to call them out on their golf game that they may be doing wrong. People have ASKED me for advice on numerous occasions (mainly on pitching/chipping, which is easily the strongest part of the game) and I will answer it to the best of my knowledge, but I will never go out of my way to offer advice.

  5. haha yeah man. I mean, if it's at a point I don't care anymore (like really a bad day) then I won't focus on it, and just try to hit as many good as shots as I can. But, if I am like 2 or 3 over for the day heading into the 15th, I know where I stand.
  6. Once you get to a certain level, I'm not sure how you don't. Back when I was a 18-25 handicap I didn't really, because sometimes it'd be quite high and I'd actually lose track without checking back with the scorecard. But now I always know how many over par I am.
  7. 2002 audi a4 1.8t
  8. Who even thinks of something like that, seriously? I've never even thought about pulling out a TEE in the fairway!
  9. Ah, there's always those one or two holes on each side that seem to get ya from shooting a good round. The other day I double bogeyd the ninth hole to shoot 37. Now, the ninth at my home course is by far the toughest on the course, but still, if I could've scratched out a part it would've been nice!
  10. I've been using the same gap wedge for three years, and the same sand wedge for about a year. It's all a feel thing and getting used to it. If you gave me a pair of new vokey wedges tomorrow, I may not play as well with them. Once I had them for about a week or two I'd be fine though.
  11. Sounds like you're trying too hard man. Just sayin'.
  12. Who's the player and I'll be able to tell ya? hahahahah jk But really I'm takin the tour pro all day sorry my man
  13. Yeah, great video quality. Can we get a decent angle with a decent camera here? lol.
  14. The greatest satisfaction for me is putting well. I love when I am draining everything... Doesn't happen often of course, but what's more frustrating then not being able to get the ball in the cup?! ;)
  15. I started playing at 14, and I'm 18 now. I know I still started fairly young but I wish I started when I was 7 or 8 or something. My dad tried to get me into it numerous times but I just wasn't interested in it until age 14. I preferred much faster paced sports such as basketball, or football.
  16. I sometimes think about this, and yeah, I do. My course is pretty long and when I'm driving the ball well (solid and straight) I score much better then when I'm mis-hitting it, or when I'm hitting it all over the place (like most people, I guess)...
  17. Good contact and just trying to imagine how the ball is going to roll out usually produces the best shot for me. Make sure you always go up and take in the contour of the green, where you want to land it, etc. though before you hit. I hear you though. That's why I don't like to overthink my easier chip shots, just get up to the ball and feel the distance.
  18. the basic golf pride tour velvet lasted me a good while on my irons.
  19. or you could just go PW/52/56 like me!
  20. I find the video to be very helpful with the guy I work with. But make your own decision.
  21. My home course is a par 71 and has a tee set from 6100 yards, 6600 and a little over 6800... I generally play the 6600 Gold Tees...It makes the course a challenge, yet fun. The black 6800 can get pretty darn challenging, but I'm going to have to go back there for the Club Champ. Saturday anyway.
  22. I used to have a 60 but it became pointless to me. Anything inside of 70 yards I just use my 56*/14 bounce. It's just easier to open the face and feel the shot then to bounce between a the 56 and 60.
  23. Played a quick nine holes at my home club from the black tees (gettin ready for the club championship) it's pretty tough back there but only if I could avoid the big number. Two doubles, and a triple for a 42.
  24. How do you take the golf club back on the takeaway with the towel there?
  25. Did you slice that? Looked lkike you cut across it a bit. You are probably one of the slowest players I've ever seen. What the hell were you doing standing over your ball for like 25 seconds like that man? LOL.
