  1. I love Titleist woods. I've got an old LFE and now have the 905 T and R. I play the T. Bigger and newer isn't always better for your game.
  2. I wouldn't worry about knock offs in used clubs. I"ve bought over 200 things on ebay and been very happy. Only buy from people with pay pal and with high positive feedback. check golf galaxy regularly they get alot of trade ins you might stumble on some gems
  3. Non of the above, Mizuno mp 33 Callaway X tour Taylor made rac forged ping eye 2 copper
  4. I'm with you, ECCO is by far the best
  5. yes you can cut it down and you have a few options after you do. 1) try it as is, you might like it. 2) lead tape on the sole of the putter, 2 strips fit side by side. 3) I was at a golf show this weekend and the Golf Pride guy suggested lead tape under the grip for balance.
  6. I'm with you, one more thing to lose, and a bit metrosexual if you ask me.
  7. King and the Bear and Slammer and Squire in St Augastine are outstanding.
  8. I was at Cog Hill today,Cog is in Chicago where they play the western openm, for the Golf fest. The ultimate demo day. My son and I hit everything. Whats funny is, I hit the old time Nike forged blade better than anything any other brand had to offer. So I say try the blades.
  9. Whistling Straights is the finest golfing experiance. The courses at the world golf hall of fame are also excellent. I say experiance because the course is only part of the whole day
  10. Find something used. You can get last years top of the line for the same price as a piece of crap new one. Or, The Macgregor Mactech is only $129 new at golf galaxy good driver great price
  11. I'm a titleist driver guy but one of my buddies has greatly improved with the Ping. It's you man, what head looks best and what shaft fits
  12. Yuengling is the beer. too bad you can't get it in the Chicago area. I had My share last week down in FL. Bud? are you kidding me? Anything that is the #1 of anything is just so generic. No taste no flavor so everyone can drink it. Starbucks yes, dunkin doughnuts no.
  13. You are right on, the platinum is more to my liking and at $25 - $30 a dozen for last years model is a steal. keep your eyes open and stock up. I got some for $25 at Las Vegas golf last week.
  14. Always play it down unless it's going to hurt the club. Rocks, cart paths, trees etc. Anyone can play from a good lie.
  15. I've never been a fan of the Style, seems kind of cheep to me. The Select however is solid. Forget that the weights are interchangeable because you will never change them. But they sure are cool. They give the putter a real pro look. I like them heavy so I buy the 33 and put a plug in it. Sweeeet
  16. I've got a bunch of both, 7 Betts, 55 Scottys, 10 TP mills and a bunch of others. The fact of the matter is I "play" with and old Bett BB8 or a TP Mills tig welded professional. Scotty is a master marketer that everyone loves and is willing to pay big bucks for. Including me, but if you want to get a a hand made or a tour putter for less than $1500 go with TPM or Bett and pay about $300 - $500. Quality is terriffic. If you go to ebay scotty cameron 1400 items Bettinardi 94 tp mills 15 marketing, marketing, marketing and of course it performs
  17. I love the Scottys and all of his testing may be optimal but it's your putter and whatever you do to it to make the ball go in the hole is OK. There was a story last year that Tiger put lead tape on his Scotty between rounds because it didn't feel right. I would put a plug in your 33 and see if you like it.
  18. It's not so much work as it's remembering to do it. Like if you play and it starts to rain and you run to put your clubs in the car. Then go to the 19th hole and by the time you get back to it it's got rust in the mill marks. A good idea to just keep the oil rag in the headcover.
  19. This isn't what Scotty Cameron has to say. The Scotties vary 10 grams per inch. 35" = 330 grams 34" = 340 33" = 350 Only a rule of thumb cuz if you make the putts who cares how much it weighs
  20. I don't like to make my ball it just seems to make it look used. I prefer to buy logo over runs or keep it in the fairway My buddy however always marks his with a "sombrero". Seems silly to me as he losses them faster than he can mark them. It stems from 10 years ago when he found "his ball" 100 yards farther than he's able to hit it. So any of you who finds a noodle with a red marking with a sombrero in IL or FL or AZ you saw it here first. And believe me there are 100's of them
  21. I've never been a Ping guy but they are the mold of just about every cavity back iron ever made as well as most putters. No chrome, no milling, nothing fancy but they hold value and people buy new ping stuff sight unseen The anser and the zing, every manufacturer has a knock off. Karsten was a visionary.
  22. When I had my basement finished I put in a 400 sq ft putting green on the unfinished side. I drilled and broke out the areas for the 5 cups. I then cemented cups in the floor. I bought a 15 ft wide roll of the green on the internet and had the carpet guys put it down. I got the padded back 10 -12 stimp. I would recommend the fastest you can find. Mines a little slow. As for breaks, most basements have plenty. I had thought of putting sand under but was afraid of the friction of walking on it over time would wear through. If you are going to do a platform green to fill a room don't forget about being able to open doors. I found that 15 min or so everycouple of days does wonders for you stroke
  23. I think you need to play the same ball all the time. The distance and spin are different on every one. That being said. I start every round with a new sleeve of Nike platinum and "usually" only use one or two of them. If I go through the sleeve I then go to the left overs in my bag. By the time I've lost 3 the round is shot and what difference does it make. Where's the cart girl and give me a beer.
  24. Don't put them away wet. Also they clean up nice if you beat them through the sand a bunch of times.
  25. love your birds man
