How where your club weights matched?

my current set up has been picked up hit or miss, except my new Wishon 4w which was built for me by a custom club maker. I'm pretty sure he matched the swing weight with my 9w though if he did, i don't recall him telling me that. Any new clubs that i get will be MOI matched and FLO aligned. I've been doing a ton of reading about this and feel I'll benefit greatly. -
I've just "discovered" the position the ball at the same point, just off the left heel recently. Now that there is snow on the ground, I haven't had the opportunity to work this method but it makes a lot of sense to me and even if I don't end up using this method, it has already helped me to realize why I tend to hit some shots fat compared to others. I do plan on giving this method a solid go and see how it helps me.

You all realize that these "gangsta" posters are just trolling here correct? I suppose it's fun to get steamed up about their comments but to even for a second think they are other than 12 years olds looking to rile up a bunch of "old geezers". If you ignore them, they go away............it's no fun if people won't play their game.

Taking the range to the course

if you are like me, you are hitting it fat on the course? you are probably hitting it fat on the range mats too but you can still get some good shots when the clubs bounce off the mats. As many here have suggested, put a tee or a towel just behind your ball while at the range to promote ball first contact. divits are fine, as long as they come after you hit the ball. -

got and played the Wii version last night. Was a bit disappointed at the cartoon like graphics. I've been playing online PC TW at EASports.com and the graphics on that are far better. It was cool to play Augusta but again the graphics were underwhelming and so I wasn't as impressed as I hoped to be. -
I've not had any altercations, yet. The closest was last summer and I was part of the group getting hit into. Bunch of high school kids playing behind us and not waiting. The one that really boiled my blood was as we were driving away from the 18th green, one of them hit the ball and it land about 5 feet from our cart. I locked the brake and was ready to throw the ball back at them when my wife intervened and I just let it go. High Schoolers.............what can you do with them?

What were the temps like? I been all over the place on my recent range sessions. if it's nice out, I do well, if it's breezy / cold, I tend to yank my shots left and very short. Also like my game on the course, if I'm tense my game / range sessions suffers.

I went to the range last night with the thought of giving this a try as well as working on the technique I had started to groove the end of last season that was working well for better contact and quick stopping balls. Guess what! Same technique! What I was / am doing is slightly different, mostly as to when I cock my wrists but otherwise very similar. That's kind of cool to me, to figure out this on my own.

I forget where I found this info, it was on a different site with a link or very old Golf Digest articles. Using this formula, it shows how many GIR's you need to hit to break 90,80,70 and how many putts also. GiRs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 Score 93 91 89 87 85 83 81 79 77 75 73 71 69 Putts 37 36 35 34 33 32 31 30 29 28 Score 95 92 88 86 83 80 77 74 71 68 If you are hitting those three GIR's and putting is 2.1 average. work on those putts, get 'em down under 2. I really like the focus on bogie strategy. I will be working that myself this year.

You're welcome. I'm lucky in where I live. We have 2 acres surrounded by orchards so I have a nice 140-170 yard uphill/downhill playing area to practice and if I don't mind losing balls, can drive them into the orchards as well. The downside is even in the area's that I've seeded with turf grass, there are lots of weeds and most of it is field grass but hey, I'm not complaining!

If your wife does Weight Watchers, join also. It does work, the first time I did it, I lost 40lbs in 6 months. That included lots of exercise too. Last year when I went back to lose what I had regained, I lost 20 lbs in about 4 months. Have to be accountable week to week really helps. Also what helps me, especially to maintain an exercise program, is to have a definitive goal. I had a ski trip with a friend recently, so I made sure I was in shape for that. In the past once the event was over, I'd stop exercising and get sloppy with my eating again too. This time my wife and I are training for a 1/2 marathon for late spring / early summer. I know I'll have to come up with another goal to keep up the exercise after that but you get the idea. I can't attest to how well the weight loss helped my golf but I felt better overall and my lower back stopped hurting too.

do you have a back yard? either use some chalk to mark a hitting line if hitting a real ball isn't an option and try to make your divot after the line. If you have space, get one of those ball nets and hit into that, don't need much space. You don't get to see a long pretty flight but you should be able to work your ball striking.

Not to try to send traffic away from this site but after I read this last year, I switched from GI cavity back clubs to Mizuno MP-32 "cut" muscle blade style clubs I and dropped 10 strokes last season. I'm looking to drop 10 more this season. A great book that really illustrates the need and benefits of custom fitting, ESPECIALLY for beginners. I forget what I paid for it but I'm pretty sure is was less than $55. They had some used around $25. I think you can order them direct from Tom's website for less than that too. -
It is my favorite book on golf. Course and game management has as much or more to do with low scores as long drives and good putting. I re-read this at least once a season. Granted at my current handicap, I often forget the wisdom of the book when on the course but I'm getting better and that's what counts!

Key to Getting Spin on Wedges?

Another comment I've read from many different pro's when asked how to spin the ball backwards is this; do you often hit the green past the pin? If not why would you want it to spin backwards? -
