Maybe I'm overestimating this type of golfer, but I don't buy that. Unless the motivation is something other than simply golfing (drinking beer with friends out on a golf course, for example), once/week should be enough to improve to that level even with swing flaws.

Played a round today focusing on keeping my stance shoulder width: pleased with the results overall as contact was more consistently crisp with significantly fewer push/pulls. Ball flight with my woods switched from draw to fade, but I'm guessing that's something that will work itself out with more time.

I think we need to redefine weekend golfer. Someone who consistently goes out once every weekend should be able to break 100 consistently. The average golfer who plays on the weekend likely doesn't play anywhere close to once per week. Those are the ones who I would expect to be well into the triple digits.

Thanks for the response! All of my woods are included in that clip: starts with the driver, then progresses to the 3-wood & 5-wood. I do notice that my stance has a tendency to widen. I'll make narrowing it a point of emphasis the next time I go to the range. Thinking about it, that's likely the reason my ball position is so far back in my stance - weight stays too far right and it's a compensation that allows me to strike it decently. I play my irons much further back than that for likely the same reason.

I've been Playing Golf for: ~10 years with some summers containing few rounds, others at a more once/weekend pace, and everything in between. My current handicap index or average score is: 16.0 My typical ball flight is: Typically my ball flight is either straight or has some draw. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Pushes/pulls are my most prevalent issue. Will hit shots thin at times. It's been a while since I've posted on the forum; I stumbled back onto it a couple of weeks ago. I've been playing more golf this summer than I have in a number of years. This is my first attempt at filming my swing. The footage from behind is from a week ago; the footage from the side is from this evening. I have never taken any formal lessons, making most of my adjustments on my own gradually. The problem area that I'm most cognizant of is my tendency to not clear my hips and leave my weight on my back foot. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! Videos:

Srixon makes a great tour ball if you're looking to spend that much. I haven't tried their mid level balls, but I can't imagine them being better than the NXT-Tour.

I'd like to see either Casey, Furyk, or Stenson win.

I'm a 19 handicap too, so I figure I'd give you my stats and you can compare if you'd like: Fairways: 45% GIR: 15% Putts/Hole: 1.84 Up/Down: 25.4% Sand Saves: 27.5% Distances: Driver: 230-260 range, with an occasional 275 blast 5 Iron: 180ish 7 Iron: 160ish 9 Iron: 135ish

Any iron shot that lands and just stops on the green for a GIR. I also love hitting nice flop shots.

I'd go Titleist. I haven't hit their irons before and I don't own a Scotty, but I love their woods and I plan to buy a couple of Vokey's eventually. I've been playing a Titleist driver since 2002 when I bought a 975J (which wasn't the best club for me at the time, but I learned to hit it well), and I haven't hit a different brand off the tee since.

Definitely Titleist, Mizuno would get consideration for their irons, but that's really the only thing close.

I'm pretty sure that he's alluding to the Titleist NXT-Tour's. Those are the best balls on the list that I've played, but they're most definitely a step below any tour ball in spin and feel.

I wasn't all that impressed with the Callaway balls. I like Srixon Z-URS, Titleist Pro V1 and Bridgestone B330-S a lot more than the HX Tour's. To each his own though, the Callaway's spin really well, but I didn't like putting with them (they seemed to jump off my putter head, and i was often long on putts). Maybe I was just having a bad day with the putter, but I played the front 9 with Callaway's and had 24 putts, when i switched back over to Sirxon's on the back it dropped to 14 putts for the 9.

I got my Titleist 905R for 199, and I really like it. I haven't tried any of the drivers on your list, but of the one's you listed the r5 would probably be the safest bet.

Bridgestone B330-S and the Nike One Platinum are pretty durable, better than the Pro-Vs and the Srixon Z-URS atleast.

89 (43-46). The most interesting round I've ever played. It rained for the majority of the front 9 and got humid on the back. My driving was excellent and my putting was really poor today (36 putts; maybe due to the really slow greens). I hit my first hole in one on a short par 3 (118yds), where i actually pulled the shot a bit and it hit a hill that bounced it back onto the green. I could only see the top of the flag from the tee box so I had no idea until i got to the hole that it actually went in. I bogeyed 11 holes today, if my putting was where it usually is I could have shot in the low 80s, but really I can't get dissappointed after the round that had my first ace!

So far nothing I've tried has felt better than the Srixon Z-URS's, but I just picked up a sleeve of Bridgestone B330-S to try tomorrow. I still have the Callaway HX Tour 56 and Taylor Made Red to try as well.

Nope, I don't like having a line. I tried it a couple times and it seemed like I was too busy worrying about the line instead of making the putt.

The Platinum isn't a bad ball, actually the only Nike ball that I like. Here's an indepth review of them: http://thesandtrap.com/equipment/bal...m_balls_review . The Z-URS is my favorite ball that I've tried though, it just seems to perform better for me than the Pro-v's and Nike One's of the world. There are 3 other pro-quality brands I still need to try: Bridgestone, Taylor-Made, and Callaway.
