  1. Some golfers i know who use Pro V1's with tight budgets say they only use the v1's for serious matches, but use Top Flite D2 "Feel" edition, and they say it is very comparable. One of my buddies even switched entirely to the D2 feel, as he said the extra $25 dollars wasn't worth it, and plus you get 3 extra in every box. your thoughts on it? I haven't gotten the chance to play it, i recieved a free 2 pack of d2 distance in the mail but just assummed they were Rock Flites as usuall and put them in the corner some place. Now i'm digging to find them
  2. right your stealing from someone else. That makes it all better. (i would probalby do the same thing )
  3. i know you said 7 wood. There is a big gap beetween 7 wood and driver, unless you meant you have a driver through 7 wood(1,3,5,7) A 19 degree hybrid can act as a 5 wood. Alternatively since you have no 3 iron you can use a 21 degree hybrid in place of one. More forgiving and easier to hit.
  4. well you have a huge gap there beetween 7 iron and driver, and not having a 2 or 3 iron doesn't help. I would suggest a 19 degree hybrid, which is about the loft of a 2 iron or a 5 wood. Problably would fill the biggest hole in your set
  5. where are you getting theese deals?
  6. money smells disgusting what are you talking about? and for gasoline, you either love it or you hate it, and i hate it.
  7. As the title says i am a new golfer, and want to purchase some clubs. I only have a sencond hand starter set, and a really nice putter that i bought, but want to upgrade. I'm alright with my irons for now, they are graphite shafts and i have no need to upgrade with my level of play. I have already upgraded my putter to a nice one, but was wondering your guys thoughts on getting a new driver (the one i have is 250CC ) I don't know if there are any which are good for beginners without being starter bundles and such, and i'm not picky about used clubs either. The other thing i was wondering about is hybrids. I hear all the time about how it is hard for beginners to hit long irons, and was thinking of purchasing 2 hybrids to replace my 3 and four irons. Is this something i should do? Also i want to get some golf balls which will work for me. I went to golf galaxy and explained my situation and told me to go for some cheap top flites, but was wondering about other options I am a teenager, i guess with a lower middle swing speed. I can hit the ball about 225 yards on average, with a bit of proper instruction i'm sure i can get it up to ~280, as every once in a while i can flush it well past the 250 yard marker, and i know i did something right, but can't really put a finger on it. The ball also travels fairly straight, so i'm not worried about that, just mainly distance. I was thinking along the lines of Nike Juice, Callaway Warbird. Not worried about price for the balls as long as its under $25(i played 18 last weekend and didn't lose a single ball.) I was wondering if the high end balls won't do anything for a beginners game, or people just advise against it because they think you'll lose them Sorry for the long post, but i don't have a lot of golf buddies and had to get it out. Thanks in advance
  8. at my course they have some special machine that colors the ball yellow and puts stripes over the logos so you don't know what brand it is, but occasionally i will find nike or titleist balls in there. I'm assuming that after buckets people will hit some of thier own balls just to compare or something. and i was the one who made that post. I haven't seen that guy at the range since.
  9. on the website it says tiger uses Nike One Platiunum slightly altered and with TIGER on the side. And i don't think his website is lying because they actually list that he uses the scotty cameron putter and nike ignite woods, they don't just list the most up to date nike equipment.
  10. I use the Top Flite XL Extreme Distance. I went to golf galaxy and they recomended them because i am a beginner and i got them for $11 for a dozen. Next time i'll problably get Nike Juice or Callaway Warbird. Im trying to learn how to play, i can hit the ball fairly straight but need some distance.
  11. not really cheating, but rules breaking, but one time at like 8:30 i was at a driving range. It was just me and my dad and another guy. the range cart wasn't out either, and all the staff who were supposed to be working were in the bar. so anyway im about to hit and i see the other guy about halfway into the range picking up balls and putting them into his backpack. I later saw him leave with a halfful backpack
  12. not sure, never got the chance to see nicklaus play, all i know is tiger is amazing
  13. a little bit over the top, but funny nonetheless
  14. i think this thread should win best title of all time.
  15. can you link me? i have never heard of that nike ball before
  16. Nike Dri-Fit Tour. It's the sencond glove i've used; last time was footjoy. I think next time i'll try leather, i've only used cabretta.
  17. my goal is to become a consistent player and make my high schools JV golf team next year
  18. big bertha are beginner's rocks. I would say to choose from at that ~$25 price point are NXT, Callaway HX Hot, or Nike Ignite. I would problably go with the HX Hot.
  19. I haven't gotten the chance to use a scotty cameron yet, but let me tell you, to convince to me that it is worth $300 it better make my putts and shine my shoes.
  20. Carbite ZH. Really nice putter, retails at $150 but got it for $30 on eBay ;)
