  1. I'm still trying to get my distances down in my memory so I know for sure what I need to hit. My iron lofts have changed about 1* each, and I took half an inch off of my new irons. So basically, what I hit my PW last season, I'm know hitting my 9 or a weak 8. (around 145)
  2. "Straight 10 Finger" ... I hit the ball much better that way. I've tried interlocking and I couldn't hit my irons that way. I started swinging all of my clubs without interlocking over overlapping and I started hitting the ball much better the past couple weeks.
  3. Get rid of the chicken wing, aka the flying elbow to echo the previous poster. At worst, I have a gentle fade on the ball when I leave the face open just a hair.
  4. 100, 99 and 89. Makin my way down ;)
  5. Depends how I'm hitting my 3wood or hybrid, or whateve club I'd need to reach in 2. Usually I'll lay up to about 110-135 so I can hit my PW or SW
  6. Grief, yes.. when I hit off the tee. For some reason I struggle greatly off the tee. Mainly with my driver, and sometimes with my 3wood. I don't like hitting irons off the tee unless it's a par 3. Off of the tee I hit my irons great as well as woods. And my short game is getting much better. My only grief from playing golf is when I'm on the tee. It sucks.
  7. I LOVE that new avatar. To the OP.. hope you cure your problem. I fixed mine for the most part... except now I'm just pushing the ball way right. I think it's because my hands are way too ahead of the club on the downswing (????)
  8. voted Under 180.... I basically can't get the ball off the ground for some reason... two seasons ago I literally averaged 250-260 off the tee (with a Mizuno mx500, exsar 50 S shaft). and now i can barely get the ball off the ground. Don't know what happened.
  9. I doubt its so much as people picking and choosing rules, but unknowingly breaking a rule they didn't fully understand or know. But sometimes if you're out just to have fun with your buddies and whatnot, stay loose and enjoy it. Albeit, if it's in a tourney or a match I'm going to make sure I follow the rules... why? Because there are consequences. Not really any consequences if I'm out on a weekday afternoon with my co-workers and I fluff up a lie or unless we all agree on what we can't do. But it's to each his own, really. edit: i don't keep an accurate handicap, mainly b/c i fluff a lie once in a while and actually.. when i hit into a hazard, i rehit from that same location. that number i have posted is to tell you i'm a hack and aren't that good lol
  10. Thanks for the welcoming, but if I want to make up my own rule during a round I damn well will.
  11. Havent snapped a driver... tho after previously hitting one of my longest drives ever, on the next hole my driver head flew off the shaft during my follow through. I've snapped a 7-iron over my knee a couple seasons ago... to this day I struggle hitting my 7 iron. Maybe b/c I went a whole season without one lol I've also gotten my PW stuck up in a tree.
  12. Speaking of fitting... if you had a 45.5" shaft... wanted to cut it down an inch... how much stiffer would it make it? would it affect the launch angle (high, low, med?)? shaft is a 45.5" Callaway Fit-On X by Fujikura, R-Flex, 65g, D5 swing weight, Low kickpoint. Thanks!
  13. All of last season, and still as of right now, I'm still shanking the driver every chance I hit it. I'm using a Mizuno MX-500 with a graffaloy prolaunch blue stiff shaft. Every time I tee off the ball takes a really low flight off the tee and immediate slice. I was on a simulator yesterday and 2 of my drives didn't register b/c they hit the far outside of the screen. I've dialed in my 3w, hybrid and irons and have been more consistent with those... I just can't hit my driver anymore to save my life... With that ball flight off the tee, what could I be doing wrong? I have a feeling I might be gripping too tightly...
  14. *peter griffin voice* oh you bastard. lol I just set up a net in my basement, except all i have to hit off of is the rug, which is covering concrete underneath. is there anything i can hit off of to make it seem as real as possible?
  15. For those of you who can't hit your irons on mats (steep swing perhaps...) what do you do to work your irons when you can't hit off of grass? The range I go to in the winter has mats, and I can't hit my irons to save my life since I can't actually get down and through the ball
  16. That's because it's a lot tougher to drink when you walk the course Less toxins in the liver lol
  17. It gets boring doing it every morning, but it never gets dull seeing those perfect stripes after you finish each one lol My favorite was striping the fairways.
  18. The best practice swing in the world. The best over-the-top-shank swing in the world.
  19. Truth. Start loading up the handmower for the greens ;)
  20. I wanna experiment using a driver head with a steel shaft... If I brought a head and shaft to a shop, would they have a problem with putting them together?
  21. Grounds Crew - mowing the greens, fairways, rough, etc... basically maintaining the course/range. The mowers are pretty badass. Range Attendant - handout buckets of balls? collect the balls on the range, etc... Golf Cart & Clubhouse Attendant - proshop's bitchboy lol
  22. Gotta always look nice on the course ;) Who knows when the cart girl is looking or not As for others and the way the dress, play, etc... as long as they aren't playing pathetically slow. Just play and have fun.
  23. I have a Titleist 975F 14.5* 3 wood... I've never really been a fan of 3 woods but I love this club. Smaller head, pretty forgiving and it's very easy to hit.
  24. Most sports are like this anyways... they're broadcasting the ENTIRE game. Once it's over they continue coverage of the next show/event. IMO, I'd rather watch the finish of a close basketball game.
  25. Wow. never knew people got worked up about using their stand bags on a cart.
