  1. Thanks for the article. I think the sweet spot being located a bit higher on modern drivers doesn't work with my current swing. I am much more comfortable with a mid tee height and with my 983 than with the current 460cc offerings. I guess I will have to adjust to the higher sweet spot when the 907D2 arrives!
  2. Have played the piano and violin. Trying to master the Titleist
  3. B-U-T-FULL! knew the e92 335 was a beast, but didn't know you could get that much power just from a chip. Who makes the chip? I also know there are cooling issues from getting that much power from the v6 - have you ad any issues?
  4. not after I install a Tubi Rumore exhaust, Rogue SSK w/ weighted selector rod, Stoptech BBK, AA CAI, PSS9, ultimate pedals, etc etc etc. it's in the shop now - can't wait!

  6. I know a couple of lefties, who tried out there luck as righties because they were inconvenienced with the relative lack of equipment, nuisance at the driving range and other reasons. They both ended up switching back to south paw. The world is sexist and "right-ist."
  7. Thanks for the replies. For me I feel there is a slow evolution as I move up from my wedge to my driver. My stance is widest and the club is furthest with my driver. This does translate into a slightly different swing for me.

    "net" drive?

Sometimes the threads where people claim to drive 350 then the undermining of these claims via the internet make me wonder if sometimes the ranges I hit at have incorrect yardage posts. I tend to think myself a pretty long hitter and with equipment that I am not fitted for I can drive on average 280. They should have some sort of "internet bullshit verification" s/w h/w
  9. Something I struggle with on and off is controlling my swing arc between different clubs. My old coaching pro told me that I should have an identical swing throughout the range of my clubs, but I think that is impossible. I tend to swing my wedges and driver with at least a slight variance. This syndrom is especially true when I made subtle adjustments to my swing arc, grip equipment etc. How much is acceptable variance? Do you guys also feel that your swing varies from clubs? Thanks, any input appreciated.
  10. Fixing your swing and changing your club will both benefit you. Fixing your swing will take a lot more time investment and your won't see results as quickly. Changing your club will cost money, but you may see relatively immediate results. The question you need to ask is this: do you want to keep your current swing and see some quick results, or work your way through fixing your swing, which will allow you to "play" more shots and play golf at a higher level. If you buy a draw biased club and keep your swing, you will always need that help from technology. If you fix your swing, you can shape more shots later in your golf career, which will add dimensions to your game.

    Tipping

I agree that there is no threshold or fine line for when you do and do not tip. Also, for tips I don't setup rules and regulations for when I give them. If the service, regardless of the scale, makes me feel catered to and that the providee is deserving, there will definitely be a tip coming their way.
  12. Welcome to the board. My other residence besides Korea is Watchung. I haven't been to enough courses in the area but plan on going to Warrenbrook in a week with my father. Your avatar is awesome and some people would have killed for that opportunity.
  13. Check your basics again. Make sure a bad habit hasn't manifested itself as a obstacle to your swing. Today I realized I was gripping too much with my right hand (bad habit out of nowhere) and it took me about half an hour to figure out what I was doing wrong.
  14. I guess I already knew but its interesting to see that people switch their driver the most frequently even though it is used the least. In my opinion hitting your driver well boosts confidence and is very important for your mental game. There is just something about a drive you crush that just seems to get sucked into the sky like a laser guided missle...
  15. I am surprised and proud of you guys Much more disciplined than I thought. Products do tend to improve each year, but not enough to justify the prices - just marginally. Not to mention the marketing fluff. But it will always nice to be able to get new equipment once in a while.
  16. My idea seems a bit off. Happiness to me is golfing 18/27/36 holes with family and driving to the nearest family favorite and eating a nice hot meal. Doesn't get much more soothing and blissful than that.
  17. I have been wondering - how often do people change their clubs. I have been using the same set of clubs for years, but I have been relatively uninterested in equipment until now. It seems that most people tend to change their drivers much more often relative to their irons. I think I may follow the same trend. How often do you change your clubs?
  18. It's golf. Even the top in the world make mistakes. Make the best of your bad shot, whether it's just getting it back in play or gambling to make a well done recovery shot and keep on going.
  19. That looks awesome. You must be proud. Get us some pics after its been in battle.
  20. Have read good reviews and heard bad things about the Hibore XL - had a chance to try it out today and was severely dissapointed. It sounds tinny and impact feel leaves much to be desired. Feels similar to other Japanese drivers that I personally do not like.
  21. I'm guessing that if you kept your spine angle you wouldn't be able to get the high trajectory you are getting. Is that what flipping is? Lowering your right side and raising the left side of your bosy and scooping the ball into the air? Sounds to me this is what you are doing. You will get decent shots but without workability nor consisntecy.
  22. As a beginner I would build a sound foundations with regular lessons for about a month or two. This may be expensive but it will be worth the time and aggravation you might endure if you just wing it and build a working but flawed swing. Meaning, it is possible to hit the ball well with a poor swing, but you will hit a wall and will not be able to improve beyond a certain point. I think 2 or 3 lessons every two weeks will give you time to absorb new lessons and let your body adjust to any changes you and your coach set out for you. While taking lessons I recommend these sites (golftipsmag.com and golf.com). Not only do they have hours of entertaining information about all aspects of golf, but you can read up on lessons. I would mainly stick to the basics. There are dozens of ways to teach each point and between learning with a coach, practicing and reinforcing similar lessons from a different point of view from an online article will help you improve quickly. (Basically its better to teach yourself after you know the fundamentals than to teach yourself initially and try to reverse engineer the fundamentals.) Just try not to get TOO addicted.
  23. My exact setup with all oil cans.
  24. Congrats on your new clubs - I would also detour to the nearest range on the way home. With clubs you like it will be easier to work down your handicap. Good luck!
