I'll add that to my list of things, keeping my head still, and keep my legs more straight. Thanks for the help. I've noticed I have a bit of a forward press when I am setting up, but haven't ever seen it from this angle - it feels so weird to move it back. Ironically enough, I don't forward press with my wedges (I just suck with them) I've always realized that forward pressing delofts the club, it's a tough habit to break. Thanks for looking and giving me something to think about at my next session.

My wife's cousin shot some video of my swing yesterday while playing - unfortunately it is only a few shots of front view, not down the line. Anyways - I'm always trying to fine tune my mechanics. Background on the shots: 3 wood: dog leg left, cut the corner, drew it over the trees. Push-draw ball flight. 9 iron: par 3, 168 to the pin, ball mark pin high about 7 feet to the right, spun back about 4 feet. Push-draw ball flight, less draw than usual. 6 iron: Dog leg right, just a few yards short of the middle of the turning point at 220, very straight ball flight. I generate a lot of club-head speed, some say it is from my hips, lag, hands etc... I've never had a slow motion video to be dissected before. I'll answer any questions if you have them, otherwise, I want to hear what you have to say.

That doesn't surprise me, dogs love golf balls. My own dog used to sniff out my golf balls from my bag. She was just a clever little 10 pound-er and happened to love the balls with the softer covers. Pro V1's have soft covers.... She destroyed about 10 when I was out of town one weekend. When we put her down I tucked a shiny new one under her arm with her, for the road.

On some holes we only ate a little cause we all lipped a putt, or just came short. On our last 2 hoes we realized we still had one and a half ropes to use. Those were the 2 eagles from par 4, we put'em close. And the mulligans in our group goes to whoever had the best shot, to see if they could do it again, but better.

I almost never repair anything on the first hole - mostly cause I forgot to put my divot tool/ ball marker in my pocket. 2-18 I am on top of it.

My friends dad used to be (maybe still is) part owner of that course - has offices above the cart-barn. I'm jealous you get to play there - it has been a while since I've been in the area - the back 9 is my favorite. Don't remember specific holes right now, but we used to try and happy-gillmore from the 18th tee to the 10th green across the water with the owner. That course is beautiful. Have fun.

I'll bite. Last year I was working for a course, and ended up playing about 5 rounds a week, with the group of guys I got to know really well. Typical course regulars, all very active in our mens league. One of our buddies is the president of a professional sports team, who would sponsor numerous tournaments all over our area and put us on his team to play. We were already at an advantage playing the course very often. This particular tournament that we played (for charity - don't remember the cause) offered mulligans and licorice ropes. My friend wanted to make a "charitable contribution" to this organization, and purchased one mulligan per hole (max, per team) and one licorice rope per player (max, per tournament) If you haven't seen the licorice rule before, if you hit your ball within the length of your one licorice rope, to the hole - you simply measure off the amount of distance, tear off the amount of licorice you measured, eat your licorice and count it as a made putt/chip. Our group usually played from the tips, and this tournament was played from the whites. I know I'll get flamed, and we all felt stupid for even turning in our score due to the comparison to the other teams there (there were some good teams, too) - Keep in mind that this score is utilizing all of these "extras". We ended up with birdies on all of the par 3's, 2 eagles on par 4's - the rest birdies, eagles on all the par 5's. Total score was 48 on a par 72 course. -24. The closest score that day was -18 = 54. This charity knew that people tend to get pencil-whipped at 4-man scrambles, so their prizes for placing in the top 3 weren't anything special. Our team won all longest drives, and closest to the pin contests, with witnesses. Everyone on our team has made birdie or better on every hole at this course, during regular play.

My MB PW feels like it might as well be a custom wedge, it plays the same in my comparisons.

Well played. Been married almost 2 years and a baby on the way - been in your shoes. Twilight is the way to go - if timed well, you can get the first tee time in twilight, and will likely be let out early if you show up early and no one is waiting on the tee box. Becoming more regular will have its benefits as you get to know the pro shop guys better.

Hitting fairways off the tee, and not losing a ball. Even when I score a bit higher, losing a few balls makes the knife in my side feel twisted.

I would have pee'd on it, and tried to flush it down the toilet. Probably would have over-flowed my toilet so I would have sent Jeter my plumbing costs.

That's the ugliest hat I've ever seen.

A couple summer's ago I was playing in Florida and some rain was on its way towards us. I joked around with the group about playing with a friend in high school who had his 5-iron slip from his hands in the rain and fly into the lake behind him, on his follow-thru. Our friend's dad owned the course so he got him another from the lost & found at the pro-shop. Well I go to tee up, and my driver did the same thing, slipped out of my hand, and into the lake behind me. Different course, same set up. luckily drivers float - my friend decided to hop in the lake for me and retrieve my club. My shot turned out in the fairway.

I substituted my BMX gloves a couple of times when my golf gloves ripped. Although the padding on the knuckles was useless, they were comfy and had durable leather on the palm. I would just stick with the rain gloves made by golf companies, and get a few to swap out.

Persimmon woods feel like butter. I dink around with my dads old one from time-to-time and it's the softest feel you'll ever get from a "wood". Distance will be much less, obviously, but they're really fun to play around with.

Titleist 910f 15*. I went through this phase about 3 months ago - I hit every single 3 wood (15*) my shop had, total of about 9. I hit adams, taylormade, cobra, titleist, mizuno, and a bunch of others.. for the most part all the new "technology" will have similiar distance. The largest distance gap from longest to shortest was about 9 yards, but when I'm hitting my 3-wood 290 I'm more concerned with control. The 910f was the most consistent and easy to control. It has that slick low-profile, felt great and sounded amazing. Your best option is to get your top 3-5 choices, take them to the launch monitor at your local shop and compare your results. I pull-hooked my driver into some townhomes on a twilight round last season, heard a strange sound (I've hit them a couple times before), it was glass shattering. It was my last ball so I figured I would just watch my buddy play the rest of the hole. We drive up to what we thought was his ball, and it was actually mine. It had ricocheted back into play, and had glass shards stuck in it. I par'd the hole, he bogeyed.

I love the comments about "I wear my white belt with this outfit" (my mom still lays out my "outfits", too)....really? I own a white belt, and use it as a sheer intimidation factor.

It looks like I have finally found a decent community full of players. I couldn't handle reddit/golf anymore - too many "critique my swing" and "I finally broke 120" posts. About me: I'm from Southern California, going to school in Utah, currently doing an internship in the Dallas, Texas area in Operations Management. I'm 27, I live and breathe golf, like many of you. I'm married, (2 years) and a little girl on the way (October). I play as much as I can (at least once a week) and carry a 3.5 GHIN. I used to play with a very regular group of fellas in the Provo, Ut area, and now I don't know anyone in this area to go play with, or can find a decently run league to join.
