  1. I have made multiple purchases from both companies. Both are reliable and assemble good products. One important note: Giga will allow you to return the items for a full refund after 30 days even if you have them customize the clubs (non-stock grips, shafts, changes to the lie angle). Pinemeadow only allows returns for a refund if you order "stock" clubs.
  2. I have purchased clubs from Pinemeadow Golf and Giga golf for the last 6 years. I have been very satisfied with their clubs and service. I've bought woods, irons, putters, and hybrids. If there is a difference in quality and performance, I can't tell. I'm not saying that they are better or worse, I'm just saying that I can't tell the difference and neither can most of the people who try my clubs. A full set of irons typically costs less than $200 with both. Both companies have better return policies than you find in most golf shops. Giga will take their clubs back in 30 days for ANY reason and give you a full refund. Neither company claims that their clubs are the same as OEM. Both say that they are similar in look, feel, and performance. A laptop from Dell looks, feels and performs similar to a laptop from HP or Sony. Let the consumer decide if extra value exists and if they are willing to pay for it.
  3. Perhaps this needs to be revisited. I didn't watch the last show, but the Strike and Swipe is not listed among the finalists on their website. It may be for sale at Golfsmith but, clearly, that doesn't make it the winner of the show.
  4. I've had my SG3 for about a month and I'm very pleased with it. I have not had ANY trouble with a poor signal, customer service, bad yardages, or unmapped courses. I almost purchased another unit because of the complaints I read here and in other places. When the manager at PGA super store heard my concerns he gave me his card and said he would give me 90 days to return it, no questions asked. He owns one and loves it. Perhaps the newer units have resolved some of the problems mentioned. I can only say that my experience has been good.
  5. You can also buy a can of foot powder, spray it on your irons, driver, or putter and see the same results.
  6. You need to divide your players into "flights" so that 25-30 index players don't play 8-15 players.
  7. I put a great deal of blame on your host. I've invited guests to my club who are still learning. If someone asked to join our group or "play a game" I'd politely decline in order to protect my guest. Also, I typically will schedule a tee time which I know will give my guest(s) some extra time to play without being pushed from behind. Further, I would not allow a guest who is still learning to play with a guy who had a reputation for being a jerk!
  8. Our club has a rule that you must have a minimum of 10 full rounds posted in the six months prior to the season in order to participate. Helps minimize the problem you noted.
  9. Correct. You should use your actual score for tournament and scoring purposes. You only adjust based on ESC when entering your score into the GHIN system. I've played money games with guys who blow up on a hole and say "Well, that's 7, it's the highest I can take on a hole so I'll pick up." Wrong! If we're playing stroke play, you'll keep counting until you put the ball in the hole.
  10. I can recommend some courses for you but you need to be more specific as to where in N. Georgia you are going to be. Big Canoe has several good courses, as does Brasstown Valley. If you are going to be in NE Georgia I have a whole different list.
  11. I was there a few months ago and played Holiday, Hombre, and Meadows at Baypoint. The Meadows was, by far, the nicer of these three courses. The new Norman course is called Sharks Tooth and is on the west end. It's private but they'll let you play if you tell them you are considering buying property.

Let's all remember that their is a also a difference between being guilty and being proven guilty. Just because a jury doesn't convict someone doesn't mean he didn't do it. It just means that the prosecutors didn't convince the jury beyond a reasonable doubt.
  13. Least favorite is when I hit a poor shot and my partner mutters "ouch" under his breath while he winces. Favorite was when my buddy topped his drive, as it trickled out to the fairway he yelled "get in the HOLE". Great use of the most annoying line in pro golf. I agree, you have to be able to laugh at yourself if you are going to enjoy this game.
  14. A couple quick comments. Stina is quite the biscuit, but boy is she a b*tch. Not that I disagree with her, she's right most of the time but boy, can she be snippy. You guys are right about needing several catagories. I don't think they did a good job of specifying exactly what they are looking for. As I understand it, the winner will be sold in Golfsmith shops. Based on that criteria, the putting system and swing camera are not good cadidates. The club clip, the swing swipe, and the pop out support for travel bags are better. I'm enjoying the show but it looks pretty bush league. The set, the filming, and production are pretty weak.
  15. I'm clearly in the minority group, but I do love Ping's. Except the Raptor line, or whatever it's called. They're just plain ugly.
  16. Change your 3's to 8's.
  17. Yelling Fore when a ball is approaching someone isn't just a warning, it's a matter of courtesy.
  18. Regripping is very, very easy. There are multiple website that have instructional videos showing how to do it. If I can do it, anyone can.
  19. If some of you think it gives a player a significant advantage...and it's legal...why don't you use it?
  20. I've had two mp3's and now have an ipod nano. I'm not a big APPLE guy but I have to say the ipod...and itunes are great. GREAT!
  21. Another vote for teeing it up on every hole. Like most people here, I'll just use a broken tee on iron shots and tee it just above the grass.
  22. I agree that distance isn't as big a deal as tougher, more penalizing holes. I think all holes with parallel fairways/holes should be marked with OB markers. If you hit your ball in to the playing area of another hole you should have to take "stroke and distance". THAT would put a premium on accuracy for the average golfer AND possibly speed up play.
  23. I'm 6'3 and my putter is 34". I think arm length is more of a determinant than total height. Some people like to let their arms hang down and swing freely. Others like to bend their elbows during their stroke. Whatever works best.
  24. I don't think they should be banned, but it make sense to put a maximum length restriction on them. Regarding the hands touching, I use a conventional putter with a split grip so my hands don't touch. It works great. Regulating someone's grip is a bit much.
  25. In the south we yell "Fer!"
