again some good stuff tee to green but didn't make the putts at the right moment. lets hope for the best
  2. Slowly basically. When my playing partner takes more than 3 practice swings .........
  3. Guess i played about a 100 courses. Most in Netherlands, because i play in club competition i'm guaranteed to play at least 4 different courses a year. I played 3 courses in Dalles Texas only time in the states. 6 in the UK Fance 5 Spain 19 Germany 12 Belgium 4
  4. agree on that
  5. whow. way to much for me. But than i'm from The Netherlands i wouldn't carry a red white blue bag also. i've got a cobra carry bag just because the stand system is the best and easiest to use.

Great win by Joost, it again shows you have won the match after the last putt is made. Seems like Na thought he had won after holing the birdie on 16. Interesting to see how Joost develops after this win, it sure is a huge confident builder to win a match this way.

    In a Slump

All i can say is just don't pressure yourself what i read is you try to hard, just enjoy yourself more on the course and don't try to focus on scoring.
  8. Yep get fitted is the only thing that can answer your question. I'm a 6,1 and use a shorter shaft. just to get me a little bit more control.
  9. Last sunday was competition match, i played the foursomes pretty good, and started the single match well also went 1up on the first and stayed there by decent golf and some good pars. than hole 7 a long dogleg right par 4. The hole is pretty tight also, my tee shot slightly over drawed and hit a tree on the left, i was still 200 yards away positive thing was i had a free swing. i took 4iron and hit a terrible slice short right of the green. The flag was front right just behind the bunker, my opponent hit the green in 2 but had 23 feet to go. My ball was in thick rough i had to go for the pin because i was thinking he would make par. i had about 40 yards to go, and took my 58 wedge opened the club face a little and just thought accelerate trough the ball. The ball popped out nicely flew high it carried the bunker and landed just on the green, i had about 8 feet to save my par and the hole. i could see the look on my opponents face, as if damn i didn't expect that, he 3 putted and i holed out to win the hole, this kind off was the key hole in the match, i won 8 and 9 and 12 14 to end the match
  10. I think you will have a larger hitting area, but i doubt more distance, personally i don't see the benefit off this club, if you have trouble with driver, you will have that with this club also, maybe a stronger lofted 3 wood will help than. i've got a driver with 1" shorter shaft and get a little more consistancy
  11. I didn't have a driver nor 3 wood in the first 5 years. reached hdc 14 doing so. But if you need pars on your scorecard and want to go to single digit hdc well you just can't afford to hit 5 irons in all the time. But if i could hit my 3wood 277 than i would dump my driver
  12. practice????? only practice i get is warmup before a round these days.......
  13. weird story but i first made eagle. i had a hole in one second time on the course. I was damn lucky, lets say i used the contours of the course well. my ball hit a big wall on the left bounced back to the green and rolled in. The pro was just as shocked as me. last week ( 16 years later i had a second ace )
  14. i carry 3iron and a stronger lofted 3 hybrid in my bag. i will select the iron only when i need a lower trajectory or in heavy wind. the hybrid is just easier to hit off the fairway you will get more distance out off a mishit with the hybrid.
  15. First thing what is see is people are so damn distance minded. Your telling you can hit a drive 285 but not straight, than just don't hit driver... ( i first hit driver after 5 years ) if you can hit a driver 285 you can hit a 3iron 220 or 3 hybrid. If you play the par 4's like you want to make bogey, you will end up and make more pars en less double bogeys or worse. There is just no need to hit a 420 yard par 4 in 2. if you hit 3-4 iron off the tee than go to a 7 iron you will leave yourself 80 yards for the third shot ( a shot you can do well ). for par 5's same story just go for an iron off the tee, lay up on your second and you can still reach with your third. If i play a course i always try to stay out off trouble, if there are bunkers at 250 on the fairway, i will not hit driver but 3 wood and stay in front of them. than a par 5 with grenade bunkers on the left, i will lay up on the right side fairway to make the opening to the green wider. Look where the flag is at the green front or back, and specially when it slopes from back to front at a front pin position i want to avoid a downhill putt i even prefer an uphill chip. so i will select a club that will stay short. good luck

    Joost Luiten

The last tournament with 23 birdies will help in matchplay situations, double bogeys and triple bogeys only cost him 1 hole. he well gain more with the birdies. Hope he will get there with his game. looks like he put a lot off work into short game and putting.
  17. Sunday's competition round i was +1 after 14 holes, this was the moment i won my match. I'm in a good flow at the moment, specially the short game is working, again had a few great up and downs.
  18. In the bag on silence mode. I don't play with gps systems, call it old fashion but, i still use the 3 distance markers 200M 150M 100M as my distance guide. Sunday at competition we play a FBBB in morning round, my team mate uses a bushnell and gave me the distance but i didn't switch clubs a single time
  19. Look i think you can't really match up those 2. What Nicklaus did was simply amazing. And what tiger did as well. They performed in an other generation. I think there at the same level. Back in time when nicklaus was at his best, there where only a few who could match up to his level. In tiger's years there was a whole field of players. Tiger changed the sport to what it is now (a field full off fit players), something nicklaus didn't. I don't think Tiger will get more majors than nicklaus, but does that make him a worse player? I don't think so.
  20. yesterday's competition round . AS after 16 holes ( never been up in the match ) 17th dogleg left 420 yards. blocked my teeshot to the fairway wanted to hit a pw over the trees for position, but was to lazy about it shanked it more right, tried to hit my hybrid trough a gap that wasn't there so ended up 70 yards short left of fairway in thick rough. i somehow managed to get it to 8 feet and holed the put for bogey and the halve. Wen't on to birdie the 18th and win the match.
  21. Whohoooooo my first official under par round! -2 included 3 eagles ( 1 hole in one ) and a birdie. ended the round with a double bogey, got a bit over exited after the ace on 17.
  22. Driver: left heel 3wd : rather the same just inside left heel long irons just a little more inside about half a ball i move the ball a little more to the middle on every iron. my wedges will be just left of center.
  23. Well this is my type off game really. they call me mr. Scramble for a reason hehe. My last round a dog leg left par 5. my tee shot hooked in the left hand trees. from there i wanted to hit a punch to about 100 yards but over hit my shot and ended up in the right trees. the flag was stuck front right just behind a deep bunker. From where i was there was no option to reach the green, to get the bunker out off play i thought to lay up past the bunker short of the green. i duffed that pitch so after 3 shots i still didn't see fairway nor green. my ball was now on some sort off a dirt path, the only option i really had was to flop it and hope for the best. Well now the only good shot off the hole came up and i actually slam dunked it in the hole, making one off the nicest birdies ever.
  24. The old head cover drill might help here. Place a head cover under your RIGHT arm. and keep it there on the backswing. If you bent the left arm your to far away from the body and with that your right arm also. Keep the head cover in place ( it may fall down on the down swing ) and your plane will be better
  25. I think what happend is this. By flattening the swing. Your take away is to much on the inside coming back at the ball you can be blocked by your hipps and the only thing you basically can do is flick the wrists to make contact with the ball. In most cases this is with a closed clubface there is is your big hook. Same thing happend to me, i try to focus on a wide (maybe little outside ) takeaway and on the end i try to point my left handpalm to the target. I now get a little draw. hope this helps
