Mizuno MX-25 Vs Cobra FP
beantrac replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Well i tried both. i liked the cobra's forgiveness. but i had alot more feel with the Mizunos. To me you can't beat the feel of a sweet hit with any of the Mizuno clubs. Forged clubs are great. But they are not for everyone. I will say that i don't think the Mizunos are as forgiving as people give them credit. But i would definitely try them both out, and many others. you don't want to spend $500 plus on something you don't like or can't hit. try them all in you price range. -
I wish him the best. If given the chance at 16 I would have done the same thing. If he feels confident and knows this is what he wants to do then more power to him. I don't think he will be a great player, but i think he will be able to hold his own once he gets more comfortable.

Which Wedge Do You Use Most Often?
beantrac replied to FutureSound's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I use my 56* for anything within 110yds. Love that club -
I am way to superstitious, from playing baseball. And being diagnosed with a slight case of OCD, which is getting worse as i get older 1.Will never use broken tees 2.Always wear my old Atlanta Braves hat 3.Never take my glove off until after I get the line for my putt 4.Always touch my 7 iron in my bag before any shot unless i hit with it, then i will pull it out and put it back in and then pull it out again to make my shot 5.Always have a blue, red, and white tee in my right pocket 6.Keep tees (about 4), divot tool, and Joranian quarter (ball marker) in left pocket 7.Use only even # balls, will trade the odd # with one of my golfing buddies The rest of my superstitions ar daily things. 1.Always put left shoe on first 2.Have to wear a belt if pants or shorts have belt loops I have way to many.

I would rather play with a high handicapper, being a high handicapper currently. i recently was invited to play with my wifes uncle, who said he shot in the 70s, so i was real worried that he was gonna blow me away. and embarass me. but i think he played a whole dozen balls just to shoot a 86. not counting the balls he lost. i ended up shooting a 91 using 2 balls. it really got under my skin.

I enjoy watching Vijay, to me he has one of the sweetest swings. Furyk is fun to watch, just cause its amazing that he can actually hit the ball straight with that crazy looking swing.

Odyssey, love my putter. slightly offset which killed me when i fisrt got the putter but love it now. Didn't like the grip, but that was an easy fix

definitely hit as many as possible. i was in the store probably 2 hours just making my decision. probably hit 500 balls, and seriously tried 10-12 different irons. The salesman was awesome, he just kept the clubs coming, and was very informative.

Well i went Saturday and got fitted, tried just about every club in the store. It was a very hard decision. i had it narrowed down to the Mizuno MX-25, Wilson Di7, and the Callaway X-20. I ended up getting the Mizunos. the others were great clubs, but hitting the sweet spot on the Mizunos was the greatest feeling ever. Can't wait to get these bad boys. should be coming in middle of next week.

Being from around Atlanta and loving all Atlanta sports, I feel it is a real low blow to all Falcons fans and Dog owners. If i had a property (doesn't matter if i had 1, 2, or 30) and someone was living there. I would know what is going on at that house, even if it was my brother, sister, cousin, maybe even my parents. Cause in the end I would be the home owner i would get in trouble. I say he atleast knew it was going on, even if he didn't participate. And that is guilty by association. Love the Falcons, but i hope he gets in touble. Just to make an example for all dog fighters. If it was me in the situation, i would have already been put away for my 5 years.

I love baseball, GO BRAVES! Also love to go to just about any sporting event. Love hunting almost as much as golf.
-
Well i am going to get fitted and choose my clubs today. definitely gonna try the x-20s and the x-20 tours. they didn't have any of those last time i went. they had the display but no irons. I am pretty excited.

i am a big fan of soccer. Don't really follow just one team. But if i had to pick just one team i like to watch Celtic. Maybe its just i like their uniforms. but for me i enjoy watching them. i really enjoy international matches. love to see the best from each country playing.

Dicks is the worst. I use to shop there cause i thought it was the only golf store close, but i found another one. But being young, i always got overlooked at Dicks. Customer Service was terrible. Plus they tried to sell me everything i didn't ask for.
-
i would just rather be fitted. i know i am gonna play these clubs for a while. my last set that i had fitted the lie angle was adjusted -4degrees. don't want that to happen.
-
those were the first set i looked at, but they were on closeout. I guess TM is no longer producing this club so they can't be fitted to me through the store i shop at. it is the only store close enough to me with a decent fitter.

Well i have been out of the game for about 3 years, but have been playing atleast once a week for the past 2 months. really need to upgrade my irons. My current irons were fitted for me in high school, so they are about an inch to short. Definitely need new clubs and i am going to get fitted. I want some that i can grow into. currently about a 20 handicap, but i lay a huge blame on my iron play. use to be about a 5 handicap in high school. But i am leaning towards a game improvement iron. i have hit all these clubs and each has likes a dislikes. i want something forgiving but at the same time i could work later on. Need to keep these clubs for while also, the wife isn't going to let me keep buying clubs. i have already bought a new driver, wedges, and a putter. Probably should have started by buying irons cause the rest fit from before, but back to the point. Forgiving but playable down the road: Wilson Di7 Cobra FP Titleist 775.cb Mizuno MX-19 or 25 Ping G5 I don't like the Taylor Made irons that i hit (R7 and R7draw). i didn't care for the bulkiness of the Callaways (Big Bertha) But the ones listed were the ones i felt the best with. each had like and dislikes. but looking for an outside opinion.

it is a small world, but i am not very familiar with SC. only been living here a little over a year, and ready to leave. Not my favorite place but better then some.

Well Originally from Georgia, currently live in South Carolina, and moving to England in December. Pretty excited about that move. Just started getting back into golf again. Hadn't played in about 3 years because of work and wife having a baby. but started to get back into the swing of things.

SEC, by far in footbal. The SEC schools always beat the crap out of each other. I think the SEC is the most competitve Conference in all NCAA sports. Maybe not the best in each sport but definitely the most competitve.

sand traps with little to no sand.

i have the same probalem with the course i play. they do a wonderful job of keeping the fairways and greens in great shape. but don't hit it into a bunker. atleast not near the green. might as well set the ball on the cart path. it has made me double and triple bogey so many times. -
my goal for the year is to get back under under 10 handicap i had in high school. Just started getting serious into golf again and with my baby getting older get more chances to play. current handicap is right at 20. also i would love to play a round with under 25 putts.
