  1. I am far from a Tiger hater. I have seen what he is willing to do to his family. I would not put anything past him at this point. Whats wrong with speculation? The guy was working with a doctor from Canada known to supply various other athletes with HGH. At what point is it reasonable to to discuss a topic. I clearly claimed I had no idea if he did or didn't use PED"s. Where is the evidence against Lance Armstrong? People still claim he was the biggest doper of all time. Questioning Tiger's association to Mr. Galea is totally legitmate.
  2. Its pretty simple really. Whenever millions are at stake, perhaps billions at least in Tigers case, athletes are always trying to gain an edge. Lots of people on this forum seem to really live in a fairy tale land when it comes to the harsh realities of what these guys are willing to do. I know people who wouldn't smoke a cigarette but tried HGH. Honestly, I have seen amazing results from witnessing what that drug will do to somebody. HGH has known health benefits and if used properly, can do wonderful things. With that being said I have no idea if Tiger has used. However I would not be surprised and if I had to gamble on whether he did or did not use I would say he did, but as most of you said he was a better player than anyone else before he got "ripped" during his beginning years. It sure does work wonders on injuries though.
  3. Steve Stricker for the home victory and only major of his career.
  4. The Tiger fanboys still riding Tiger's jock after all the questionable moves he has made. Anyone who believes that there is no chance he used PED's needs to get over their crush. He's not a great guy. You may have rooted for him since he came onto the tour but he isn't who you believed you were rooting for. Oh well, it is obvious you guys have hitched you souls to his wagon and no matter what comes out in the future you are ready to crash and burn with him. The blind loyalty for this guy is like nothing I have ever seen in pro sports. Continue also to talk about his playing being average on tour when he has broke par on the tour in 2 of his last 20 rounds.
  5. Do you know any average golfer that has won 14 majors. He has been there before and therefore is better able to handle the pressure. That is why he scores better in majors. While the field is freaking out he has been there 14 times before you know. Funny thing is why all you guys defend him till death if you asked him about his play what do you think he would say? I have an idea. By the way, Putting and Gir stats are far from out-of-context, we aren't talking about his ping pong game.
  6. that Ok a missed cut, a withdraw that was questionable, and no cut today lucky for him. 142 in Driving accuracy, 111 in GIR, 134 in putts per round, and 193 in total driving does not seem like a average season by anyones standards.
  7. Maybe there is a correlation between handicap and knowing what you are talking about on a golf forum. You obviously have not watched Tiger play because he is playing as bad as anyone on the tour. Dude he is almost in last place, wake up. He hit like 3 fairways yesterday. He is six over par on a course he has won 7 times on. I can't believe you would consider a bunch of missed cuts and poor finishes a good career.
  8. Tell me what you are looking for and maybe I can assist. Types of food and entertainment????
  9. Truthfully there are a lot of posters on this forum that have no chance of playing golf at any tour level and their egos and not being able to accomplish similar feats on the golf course have greatly influenced their answers. Its easy to tell the jealous posters, the ones who actually get mad when you tell a kid to follow his dreams. Anyhow you look at it, getting to a 7.8 in a couple of months is phenomenal. If the OP is legit and his handicap is that low after playing for such a short time he definitely is not lacking in talent. Whenever someone tells you that you can't accomplish a task because they couldn't, that should immediately raise some flags. One of my friends I play with on occasion is about a +3 and he wins every tournament within 100 miles of where I live. We both started playing at the same age and I was better than him. He took golf more seriously and today he is the hands down best around. He started off looking like and average schmuck you see daily on the course but with dedication and hard work he has been very successful and even competed on mini tour play. Follow your dreams OP, you never know until you try.
  10. I feel for him. Hit a beauty on 18 and then choked on the put. That is definitely a situation I have been in. Sucks for him, propbably will be a long time before he is in that position again.
  11. Unfortunately yes. American golf is not impressive. Having to rely on guys like Johnson, Watney, and O' Hare does not bode well for the PGA. I am missing Anthony Kim and Ricky Fowler is definitely a bright spot.
  12. Tiger and Phil don't have to be winning for me to be interested. However, I don't expect much excitement when Casey is the biggest threat. Guys I am so sick of hearing about that never produce are him and Luke Donald. I watch sports for excitement and this was the least exciting major I can recall. If I am watching my football team and they win 42-7 I am extremely board watching, this is the same way I feel about the tournament. Louis played like a true champion Sunday and I was truly shocked at how mentally tough he played. The guy definitely has ice in his veins. Congrats to him, an easy guy to root for.
  13. Of course he does. Now that he is staring a divorce in the eye he cares even more.
  14. The question is always posed as to which major is the best. The answer for me is whatever major is the most competitive. This so far has been a great disappointment. I really like Louis and actually would like him to win, but I am rooting for some excitement more than Louis.

    Pet Peeves

When people with lower handicaps won't believe a person with a higher handicap then them can hit a shot they can't. May be obvious but another one is people picking up balls without even checking if someone is around. People on golf forums who post their swings to be critiqued and then negative rep you, curse you, and tell you to post your own when you say its not good. Don't post your swing if you can't handle the criticism. BTW haven't read the entire thread.
  16. Just because something is wrong doesn't mean people won't do it. You yourself on this thread speak of doing things that are equally as bad, at least in my eyes, as the suggestions of the OP. When you decide the speed limit is not applicable to you or are driving in a manner that is not advisable or puts others at risk you can tell others their actions are wrong but its rather hypocritical. I consider the road actions to be a greater offense especially with the great numbers of death and other injuries while driving. If you sneak onto Pine Valley and get caught or arrested, I will laugh when hearing about but not really care. To top it all off, you argue free speech and then tell Iacas to kill the thread and call the OP a troll. Its just a fantasy thread, these courses are special and unfortunately most of us will not be able to play them even if we do in fact have the coin. How is that fair? The rules at clubs like Augusta do all they can to keep the average citizen out. I say go for it OP.
  17. So its legitimate for you to break the law but its not for the OP. Anyone who steps onto a private course knows what consequences they will face and are prepared to live with them. When you speed and drive in an inappropriate manner, you risk putting other lives at risk. Unless your closet is completely empty what gives anyone the right to criticize or judge the ethics of the OP? Its just a fantasy thread. Sure I would love to sneak onto Pine Valley but it won't happen.
  18. Exactly. My aunt has a house about 1 minute from Shinnecock Hills and I have thought about sneaking on many times. I am more at the stage where I drive around the course and look at the holes from different streets by the course. I am more like a stalker at this stage. It sure looks lovely though.
  19. I am with you on liking him a lot but am not confident in him closing the deal on a Sunday in a major. No way he could hold on, he would have to do it from a few back.
  20. Its funny but everytime I look at one of these videos and look at the posters handicap I immediately know their is no way they shoot what they say. I would bet that many of the single digit players on here couldn't break 90.
  21. No way. You are doing the right thing. I don't understand how anyone likes him in the first place. I always felt he was a great underachiever. Anyway when or should I say if Stewart ever wins again and you are rooting for him without any feelings of wanting him to win that would be really weird.
  22. The other day I went out and was hitting the driver everywhere. I was playing 9 holes and had three left. The first two were par 4 measuring 340 and 320 respectively and the last was a 515 par 5. On 7 I hit 7 iron off the tee and then 8 to the green. On 8 I hit 8 and then 8 to the green. On 9 I hit 7, 7 , 7. Was interesting to say the least.

    Choke or not???

The course in a U.S. open is always hard Mr. Black. The lead on Saturday was six under par and the entire feild went backwards on Sunday. Is this because of the course or nerves? I would say the latter. Dustin Johnson could have shot 5 over and won. As they said in the broadcast the only groups playing horribly were the last three. The only person IMO who had no excuse to choke was Phil. The U.S. open was at a great venue for him to win with a lot of momentum from the Masters. Tiger has so much pressure on all areas of his life, and Ernie has not won a major in almost a decade. Add to the fact Tiger has never won a major when trailing by even one stroke it was hard to believe he could get it done.

    Choke or not???

I wont buy what you said for two reasons: 1. He basically hit it out of bounds twice on ten when he within one shot of the lead. 2. He has a chance to possibly make 3 on 18 and he hits one of the worst iron shots he hit all week. Even when he did hit some quality iron shots down the back his putter went cold. There is a ton of pressure to win a tournament like that and no one wants to win more then Ernie. He at least tasted it again and will have a good shot coming up at St. Andrews.

    Choke or not???

Actually it was worse. If he had a three shot lead and threw up all over himself starting at hole number fifteen that would have been a choke. However he prematurely choked and couldn't handle even the first few holes that were by far the easiest on the course. Many questioned whether his swing would hold up under major pressure. He might disappear for a while and I definitely wouldn't be surprised to not see name on a leader board for a while. Dustin choked the hardest but Tiger, Ernie, and Phil borderline choked themselves.
