I am only aware of how he teaches on air, I don't know how he actually teaches his students.

He discussed the new flight laws in one of his sessions during the Hope. I think he gets them, just doesn't address them all of the time.

Personally I don't like how the world rankings are done and I think he should much lower than 3. I hope it continues to be a battle at the top as there are a number of strong young players that I would like to see climb that ranking ladder. Kaymer should be #1 right now. If he keeps this up, he's going to be in that top spot discussions for a LONG time. 10 victories in his first 100 tournaments....not even Monty had that many. I believe they said he only had one by then.

I like the look of Vegas...I think he still needs to be tested a little more, but his game looks strong and should be an interesting player to follow.

LOL...I think this whole thing is getting ridiculous...unfortunately this is starting to look like it's going to be the story of the 2011 season, which would be absolutely embarrassing.

Nice pick ups. I am waiting for the snow to melt up here to try the Titleist out on the range. The wood and hybrid are nice looking as well.

I watch his show...I don't really take any notes or anything. The only show that I taped and kept thus far was his short game show he had in the summer. I just find him entertaining and I like to hear different views on certain swings problems and fixes. I like his addition to the Bob Hope production this week. I think it would be nice to see him involved in this matter more often.

I agree, but I think if we look back at the Azinger win, the captain can play a huge roll in providing that team unity. Definitely going to be interesting. I am not saying Davis is going to be a bad captain, I just think that Jose Maria will have a stronger presence and influence on his team. It might give them a bit of an edge.

Here we go again....

What stereotype are you referring to? It's well known that Jose has a strong vibrant personality. Watch any Ryder cup that he was apart of and it's clear that there is a lot of passion there. I would agree if hunting was one of the matches in the Ryder Cup, unfortunately for Davis that's not the case.

Who do you want for your "swing guru"?
Quinn07 replied to Harmonious's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I am not surprised with B&P; leading the way here. I chose other because I am not sure that I am drawn to any of them. I guess I will cheap out a little here and kind of use Eriks response and say I would go to each of them and then decide which I prefer. I think the only one on that list that really peaks my interest is Harmon, not sure why...maybe it's because I would love to practice in Vegas all the time, and he's had some pretty successful students. Plus I would love the opportunity to meet and date Natalie Gulbis. -
What do you guys think about this, now that it's official? Couple of great players as captains in 2012. I am not sure that he's going to be what the US will need against an increasingly tough Euro team. I think Olazabal will be a better captain just because of his strong spanish personality.

I personally couldn't care less that Westwood isn't going to be there. I like watching the players, however I don't hold in such high regards as other golfers. Is the tournament going to drop drastically because the current #1 and 12 players aren't going to be there?! Nah...

I agree. This is probably my fav...

I would agree that you should probably invest in a lesson before you invest in a new driver. Assuming the club is not broken, a new club will do nothing for you unless for some reason you need a stiff shaft. But if you have only been playing for 6 months it's the user and not the tool.

About four years ago I was playing in this weekly match play event at a local club here. One week my teammate and I were playing the head pro of the course and we caught him replacing his ball on the green incorrectly. He originally placed his ball marker in front of the ball to give the illusion that his ball was closer to the hole than it actually was (I assume trying to get us to give him the put). However when he replaced his ball, he put the ball in front of the marker ultimately moving his ball closer to the hole. We didn't say anything right away, he missed the putt to lose the hole and ultimately the match on the next hole. I lost all respect for him that night as he was whining that we weren't giving him short putts that he was missing. Now I don't know if he did it on purpose, or was just flustered and wasn't thinking about how he marked the ball, but it does happen and if it's something that is a regular occurrence they should be disciplined. The fact of the matter is that they are "professionals". They do this for a living, as tough as a game golf is, marking your ball is a relatively easy thing to do...no excuses.

If you want to burn fat while you are lifting you need to get your heart rate up and keep it there through your work out. P90x and some others like 5 factor fitness use these techniques. It's a key component on putting on leaning muscle and burning that fat without having to do a ton of extra cardio....IMO.

I am a week into P90x and using the "Men's Health Belly Off!" eating plan. Last week while I was trying to watch what I ate I hadn't lost any weight up to Friday. Since then I have lost 4.5 lbs since starting the Men's Health Belly Off! eating plan. I have been following it to a T and it seems to be working. I am looking for some more weight to come off this week. I am aware that this initial loss will slow down, so I am prepared when things start to slow down. This morning I am 202 even - down from 206.5. Gonna start having to work the midsection a little harder to get where bkoguy07 is. I will take some pics sometime this week and post them. Here's to getting in shape!!

I think this post might get me in some trouble, but please do not misconstrue what I am trying to say. I prompt my post with the following: 1 - I am 100% grateful for the sacrifice that military people make. 2 - I have a number of friends that are in the military and I support them 100%. 3 - I support donations to foundations that assist the military personnel and their families. However I absolutely hate when companies do these types of marketing campaigns. When I see ones like the Winn grips and the Srixon camo boxes last year, it makes me slightly angry. I get that they are trying to generate money for the foundations and charities...but please don't be fooled by these marketing ploys that are trying to generate revenues. If Winn is actually concerned with assisting the Troops First Foundation why not give all the sales from the grips to the foundation and not just a "portion"? I understand marketing (as I have a degree in it) however I don't agree with this type of marketing that makes it look like they are doing some worthy AND THEN to use a name for the grip like "Hero" as to pull a little more on the emotions of the buyers is just an exclamation point. I think this is tasteless and classless...JAT.

Quinn07 replied to TheGeekGolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I find myself trying to name / guess what driver it is as they scroll by, than remembering what the commercial is for. Not sure if it's an effective commercial for TM. -

What is the most important part of a golf course?
Quinn07 replied to Quinn07's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
You know that I come to think of it, this pretty true with the exception of my home course. They have some tee boxes that are just horrible but the rest of the course is always in great shape. But I would say with the majority of the other courses this holds fairly true. -
Sorry to here about the hand Ben. Best to make sure you are fully recovered than to try and play through it. You might miss a few events, but could work out for you better in the long run.
-
I have never gotten my driver loft measured, but I believe you need a special laser type measurement piece of equipment to do so. Not sure your normal run on the mill club fitter has that sort of thing...I could be wrong though.

I have no problem with her playing on the Hooters Tour. If anything, it's probably good for the Hooters Tour, as one of her playing partners said, it brings some extra people to watch. I think it's a great idea to get ready for the up coming season. Nothing to lose and the tour gains from her populairty. Good on her.
