Carpets work fine for putting indoors . What you should practice is your grip , stance , alinment and touch . try putting from a distance of two feet to a dime . If ten out of ten hits the mark then move back another two feet . See to it that your mind preserves the form that you think works and just duplicate that on the real green .

Whose PGA Tour Player's Swing You Like the Most?
albatroz replied to ronaldkuntoro's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I go for the old Pros . Ben Hogan . In all aspects it is by far the purest . Several players have adapted their swing to his and a lot of Golf teachers still teach his swing . The dynamics involved are simple , what a true swing should be . -
I have been buying and selling on EBAY for a couple of years . It is this past year or two that there has been a flood of Clones and Fakes . For a ordinary golfer they may look like the real stuff but the truth does come out and in the end the buyer end up with a hole in his bag . Last year i purchased a iron set PING Rapture for 250 bucks . I said to my self wow i got a great deal . When i went to the local pro shop to have them resfhated to Project X 7.0 they club pro noticed that they were different from what he had in his shop . So we put both clubs side by side and looked for marks that would spell a countefiet . There were no Numbers on the Hosel . Paint job was inferior . Weight , metal , grooves and specs were the same . It puzzuled us as what i got was in all aspects a real thing except for the serial and paint , was the same with the original ping club . These clubs came from China the same place where ping and other golf manufactures have their club heads made . It may be possible that these were rejects and place aside for destruction but were kept elsewhere and then put together for sale to the public in the internet ( without the knowledge of the Manufacturer). I have seen clones and by the very sight you already know that they are not the real stuff . Mine had all the specs . Have tried them out on the range and course together with the originals and i cant spell the difference as there is none . Lucky for me ? Anyway i traded them for a set of Taylomade Iron heads which were manufactured in Japan by Miura . The new owner love them and i divulge the whole truth . He says he cares not where they came from ... important thing was that they brought his game to the next level . Happy ending . BUT BEWARE

I use the Rife barbados series putter . Golf magazine Testers top pick and best value award . With their patented roll groove thech in the putters face it helps keep the consistency of the ball rolling after impact. Look feel and control are also the factors that have contributed to it being used widely in the PGA tour and the Champions tour . The Two Bar which is its brother has interchangable weights and can be bent in accordance to your putting stance . This too is now being used by a lot of amateur golfers .

These shafts are above the competion in steel shaft standard . they help promote faster swing speeds , mid flight patterns , better contol on distance , and can make draws or fades attainable ( with proper practice ) . they are kind of expensive but for the technology they bring to the game it is well worth the investment . you may change clubs often but stick to these as they go a long way .

course management . when you play a course for the first time bring a pen and small booklet . write down the yardage , course construction layout, hazards and all those facts that would be of help to you . Map out what kind of shot you plan to take for every hole . with the introduction of the range finder and sky caddie use these to give you a safe estimate on where you can drive your ball and what your second shot is gonna be like . if PGA tour pros use these kind of method then it certainly will benifit all golers from different level .

Need all shaft experts!
albatroz replied to Laxplayer201092's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
7.0 are considered Tour stiff specs . these were fabricated for PGA Tour players in mind . The way they swing and the power generated when they muscle shots are in tune with these shafts . These are mostly installed in long irons and mid get the 6.0 and so on . i can hardly imagine a 7.0 installed on a pitching wedge or gap wedge . that would be an over kill . -
I havent lost a ball in ages . simply put i never play a hero and try to overpower the greens with a strong shot . always play it safe in all courses . it keeps your handicap down and you end up being a better player . i have seen scratch players loose more balls compared to average low handicap players for the simple reason that they think they can get away with a shot from any undecent lie . well they now know that it is luck and 9 out of ten they either end up in the pond or the roof of the houses . play smart ... you will enjoy more .

DEfence ... this decade perhaps they hold that record . Not definitly all time as there were a lot of great defensive teams in the past and there are a lot more in the making .

What make of grips do you use?
albatroz replied to PutterHead's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Lamkin CrossLine . Still the best all weather rubber grip in the market . Most prefered by PGA tour pros worldwide for the past Ten years . -
best irons for single digit handicap
albatroz replied to Beach Golfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Go to a golf pro shop who specializes in club fitting . Ask them if they have access to the 06 Titleist 660 Blades . If they do then you are in luck as these are one of the best irons that can be purchased for a fraction of the original cost ( USD 1,100) . Try hiiting irons that have Project X shafts in S flex . If you like thee feel of these shafts then order a set in 7.0 ( Tour S Flx ) . Another Set to consider is the 07 Cobra Carbon CB irons . I have tried these and it is easy to do draws and fades with these clubs . I plan on getting me a set this Xmas . Will probably install shafts that are found in the Honma Beres . I love the feel of Japanese made shafts . Kinda expensive but well worth it . -
Try to find out if there are Par 3 courses in your area . Normaly they are equip with youth instructors who train kids . Your child would be more interested if he or she can be in the company of children their age . Its like a kinder golf class with lots of fun but also golfing lessons . Children do get bored if they play with grownups .

HUMMMMMM 6.5 handicap .... Now is the time to have your self fitted with new set of irons that can enhance your game to the next level . If you are using standard set then it would be nice if you can go to your local golf pro shop to have your club bent in an angle either - or plus in accordance to how you see it fit . Project X in R flex would do your iron game great now that you can easily do a draw or fade .

Graphite/Steel Shafts for Irons?
albatroz replied to ChvyKc's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Dont know bout graph shafts giving more distance ... its more on the golfer than the club they say . Steel tend to be more stable in terms of accuracy and distance for irons so thats why 95 % of PGA Tour pros use them . Graph may be good and more forgiving for the like of high handicap players to those who have slow swing speeds . -
Watch the Golf Channel . They have a lot of insights on how Tour players begin their routine . Also the like of Leadbetter and Harmon give very valuble tips on warm ups and hitting balls . Try to search for Butch Harmons game improvement practice gloves . they come in pairs and are a value for those who want to start the right way .
-
I forgot to add .. Have them fitted with Project X shafts in 7.0 or tour stiff . With the savings you get you can afford to splurge on these better shafts .
-
You forgot the Cobra Carbon CB . Great set of clubs . Easy to hit draws and fades . Not too long but more on pinpoint accuracy in your shot . Not as expensive as the competiton . You will love the feel of every shot made .
-
Go to the Taylormade booth and have your self fitted . The new TM Burner with a 10 degree and R flex shaft should give your game a boost .
-
Take time to go to the driving range . That is one place where you can hit balls and understand how and why your shots fly . After which try to see who the local pro is at the range . Secure his services for a starter course and practice what ever he preaches . Almost all Pros teach the fundamentals and there is not much difference from one who charges an arm and leg to one who just wants to make a decent living and share his knowledge . For sure you will start with the grip then the stance then the swing . Kindergarten stuff but very important .

Which ball do you use? or prefer?
albatroz replied to Robiola the Monster's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Does not matter as to what ball one uses . Once you reach a level where in control, distance, and accuracy has been reached .... equipment .. golf balls ... does not matter .... -
None of the above mentioned may qualify to bring your game to the next level . Try the Cobra S9 series of irons and give me your feedback if i have given you the key . (Pls note suggestion was based in accordence to yr handi . No offence to any golf manufactures ).

USGA on Bionic Glove: Right or Wrong?
albatroz replied to iacas's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
These gloves are non conforming . That means 99 percent of the golfing population can use them in local, oridinary games that are in what so ever sactioned by the USGA . Pros cant use them in Tours . No big deal for us . Use them if you think they contribute an advantage to better your game . -
Seeing you are using MP60 with S flex i would assume you to be a 8 to scratch golfer . At 18 handi You might have a overpowering set of irons that does not blend with your game . Try the Cobra FP series irons in R flex and see what majic it brings to your game .
