  1. I just picked up my 50 and 54 degree wedges an hour ago..(see my avatar for one of them. ) 54 with 16 degrees of bounce and 50 with 12 degrees of bounce.... both Driver grinds. I will order the next one shortly once I decide whether I want a 58 or 60 degree wedge.
  2. Or for those of us who are extremely lazy... find someone else who has the text of what you want, copy and paste. Has worked for me for years.
  3. I am taking delivery of an iPad 3 shortly. What software (free) are must haves for those of us who are range rats and non-professionals? (If there is a thread on this somewhere else, if someone would point me there I would appreciate it and take it from there)
  4. Someone needs to post a elequent response that says the correct answer is yearly... so I can print it off to show my wife... :)
  5. Lesson 1.. put name labels on all your clubs. Then there is NO excuse for someone not to return your club to you. Lesson 2.. drop spare clubs, putter head covers, at edge of green so you will have to pass it on way back to cart, bag, etc. or drop it on towel so it will be noticed. Lesson 3.. Remember others paid hard earned money for their clubs just like you did. Lesson 4.. Set a good example for your kids
  6. I have lots of loyalty towards Mizuno only because their clubs feel so darn good. My first set of irons were the old Hogan edges, followed soon after by the Mizuno Trues.. I have had nothing but Mizunos since then except for a short flirtation/trial of Ping Anser irons. Nothing feels the same to me as the Mizuno irons. I am now set in my ways and have admitted it to myself..
  7. 1. Oosthuizen - 276 2. Tringale- 278 2. Mahan- 278
  8. To this day I still follow the same rule I followed when I first started golf and was extremely erratic (moreso than now). I will not hit unless everyone in my group is behind me ( or safely protected and paying attention). If I am with strangers or an outing, etc. and someone zooms past me to their ball and then looks back waiting for me to hit, I motion them back. A few have gotten upset but I simply tell them I have no intention of sitting at their funeral being stared at by the family and lawyers. I have seen too many people hit, etc. to take this lightly. 20 years ago I skanked one out of a bunker and hit someone 90 degrees away from fairly hard. It shook me up for quite a while. I know of folks who gave up the game after hitting someone seriously.. So.. be careful out there.. it is not that hard. You can still focus and concentrate without being self-absorbed (there is plenty of time later for that..)
  9. I like courses that post them for a couple of reasons. One reason is I have a putter with changeable weights. While not a big deal, I would rather not have to go back to the car to change the weights when and if I find out the greens are particularly slow or fast. I normally have the mid-range weights in place on the putter (an Edel for those who are wondering). For Aimpointers, I still go through the process to validate what they have posted. My first few putts on the green are simply to get a feel for speed from about 20 feet. then I do the determining slope routine. If I nail it the first time, I am good and away I go to work on a few straight putts for feel and confidence. So,,While not needed, I do like having the number posted.. (A lot of time folks do not believe me when I tell them what I have come up with even though my reads are right on.. they are always guessing they are a lot faster...just like they think their 240 yd drives are right at 300 yds.. )
  10. I have this inability to keep myself from experimenting with my swing mid-round, especially when I am playing well.
  11. Only 30 miles? I had to drive 60 miles for my free lesson, free range balls (balls raised in the wild along side the free range chickens), free video analysis, and, as I got there early, a wide open large putting green to work on before availing myself to the aforementioned range balls for half an hour... perfect use of a beautiful morning.
  12. I like it except for the fact you spelled my name wrong. But thanks for the sentiment... :-)
  13. Thanks for the opportunity. It was a thrill to be part of perhaps the first group of amateurs to get the initial training by the core group of instructors who will take this forward. Thanks.. I can now say I was there when..
  14. I would like to know what the courses greens are stimping when I go out to play for a variety of reasons. First and foremost is because I use the Aimpoint method. On top of that I think it would help folks learn to get a mental picture of what they were facing that day before even stepping on the practice green. Thoughts?
  15. I am a retired Inspector General for the Federal Government. From chasing fraud, waste and abuse to chasing pars and birdies....
  16. I am a Caps fan and am quite happy with the results last night. I am most happy with the coaching of Dale Hunter. Took a lot of guts to basically sit Ovechkin and become a defensive team. Not sure it will take them more than one more round in the playoffs, but... who knows... I hate to admit it but I think folks may have figure Ovie out... He is a great talent but he needs others around him to step up and take some of the focus off of him to allow him some freedom to perform. Lets go Caps....
  17. Grass always wins out. Mats give a false sense at times. You can hit behind a bit and bounce into ball and think you had a good hit. Grass will give much better feedback.. And.. good grass is less stressful on the body. And... you can see your divots and get a lot of information from that... And.. you make chalk lines in the grass in see your strike points and work on that aspect. Lots of advantages to grass. Mats are really only good for inclement weather. Forgot to mention that grass lets you tee up driver to height you like it, not the arbitrary height of the plastic do-dad (technical term) that happens to be at the station you select.
  18. 1. slow/not ready to hit. 2. anger management issues. 3. unsolicited advice giver
