Help me choose a new ball
homerjatmoes replied to MarkM's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I just ordered some shirts from TGW and added a two ball sleeve of the Nike Vapors for $3.49 at the checkpout. I am looking forward to trying them. -
Help me choose a new ball

Just to clarify, the Zip is a low compression ball (actually a zero compression core, hence the name Zip) which is what helps in reducing a slice. The spin comes from the softer cover. When I played them I had spin around the greens due to the soft cover and a lot less side spin off the driver due to the low compression core. My normal slices where more of a fade. The e5+ is designed for spin but the e6+ is designed to fly longer and straighter. The best thing is to do what I did this year, find the part of your swing that is causing the slice. Brian Manzella's site was a big help for me to the point I took the right side of the golf course out of play. My main fault was a cupped left wrist at impact which left my club face wide open. -
Reviews for Junior gold clubs
homerjatmoes replied to baddawg's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
No reviews but Hireko sells junior clubs. Check out their forums as there was at least one thread dealing with the junior clubs. -
Austad's has them and if you look around you can find some good coupon codes .

Help me choose a new ball

I found that the Bridgestone e6+ is pretty good at reducing side spin and making the ball track better when slicing, but no ball will eliminate it. I tried the Toprock Straights a few years ago and they where absolutely no help in getting the ball straight. I would also recommend the Wilson Staff 50 or the Zip as inexpensive quality balls to try. -
I really like them and they are a great value. Great feel and putt well. For me they play as well or better than Bridgestone e5+ or Titleist NXT Tour.

The .msi file is a Windows application that will install the software on your desktop and then install files to the phone when it's synced. The desktop Software is great for tracking and breaking down your rounds and the mobile software is great for keeping score. I have only used the scorecard feature as I do not have a GPS enabled PDA.

Give me ball suggestions - PLease
homerjatmoes replied to SulfurAcid's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would recommend the Wison Staff Zip . Very long, great greenside control, and putts like a dream. The sell anywhere between $20~25 a dozen. My local Walmart sells them for 18.88 a dozen. -

My wife had the same problem starting out, anything over her 4H went about 150 yards. She worked on ball position and swing with each club and now she's getting varied distances of around 10 yards a club and shes hitting 185+ yards with her driver.

Try as many as you can. There was a demo day at my home course yesterday and I almost bought the G10 21* 3H, but then I hit the Adams A3OS 19* 3H. It was smoother and more consistent. I also hit an Adams 16* 2H and hit it better than any other 2 irons and 3 woods I have had and tried. I also tried a Cobra Baffler 3H but I could not hit it at all. not that it's not a good club it's just not good for me.

The fact that Ping irons are made in the US makes me loyal to their irons. Everything else I will buy whats best.

Most comfortable golf shoes??
homerjatmoes replied to Finn07's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I love my Byte Sandals, they are cool and comfortable. -
They each have their own marketing departments and budgets so they independently choose who they want to sponsor. One of the more interesting things is that Acushnet is a subsidiary of Fortune Brands whose products range from liquor to kitchen faucets to locks.

Buying the new Ping G10 irons
homerjatmoes replied to JeffJ's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just got fit for G10's and the pro recomended that I get the 4-PW and the UW in the G10 and get the the Tour W wedges for the SW and LW. I ordered the 4-UW and will be getting the Tour W SW and LW in a few months, and he will regrip and lengthen my current wedges. He also recomended that I not get any hybrids as I will hit the 4 better, but he is a firm believer in not spending the high cost of fairway woods and hybrids compared to the cost of irons. One thing to keep in mind is that the lofts of the G10 wedges are a little different from other clubs so if you get the PW it is recomended that you get the UW. -
I don't get it, if your not going to swing your clubs just play Tiger Woods 08. Buying a game console and the game would be cheaper. If the argument is you can't drive, play a par 3 course or drop your ball in a location you can hit from on a regulation course.

Need advice on new irons
homerjatmoes replied to Caddyshack's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just got fit for Ping G10's and could not be happier. I went to a highly rated Ping club fitter and in the process he corrected a few swing flaws and I gained 48mph on the swing analyzier and was striking the ball alot better. He also re-grip and extend my SW and 60* wedges so the will mach the rest of my clubs. I do plan to replace those wedges later this year. -
I have a Sun Mountain MVP and love it.

I joined Willowcreek Golf Club this year. The rates are good and the course is well maintained.

This statement again proves you assume a lot and talk out your rear or are in fact 13 years old. I own a Hyundai that was bought new and purchased over Toyota, Ford, Chevy.. Why? because I did a lot of research and the Hyundai was a better vehicle hands down. I work at a financial institution where we do a lot of car loans and help people find new cars and what is recommended most? Hyundai or Toyota. As for clones, a pull cart, and iron covers I have all three and I have beat players with name brand clubs, no cart, or iron covers. As for buying clones I did the research and found that the clones in some cases where the best choice for my game at the time. I also bout name brand clubs when they where they where the best choice. And by the way my first college degree was Automotive Engineering so I am kind of an expert.
