  1. if you swing at over 140mph a lot of clubheads will cave in, but rarely in my experience do they fly off! they crack the collapse but dont fly off. k
  2. Driver 360 7 Iron Up To 225 Pitching Wedge Up To 170 Lob Wedge - Short Stuff Putter - Just Short I Dont Have Many Clubs All Broken K
  3. i would say about the comment above, i was once one of those young guys who tried to bust it with the least club possible, the thing is if that is how you choose to play and you practice constructivly you can become a VERY long hitter in time k
  4. after a thorough warmup they drop at 350
  5. daft question, unless you are a hacker OF COURSE you hit your driver furthest wouldnt try and outdrive someone with my 5 iron (usually can though) kenny
  6. there is a par 5 at a course where i use the driving range, i can pitch the ball on the green, its downhill (a lot) and big dogleg 496yards on the card, god knows how far the route i take. drove flat hole of 390 last year - only played 4 rounds so not many too choose from hit some drives 400plus on harder fairways longest drive ever is by the current world longdrive champion and it is a confirmed 551yards from tee to ball!!!!! kenny
  7. gotta to hit another ball from where you last played only option my favourite shot is hitting the driver
  8. i have a GEEK DOT COM THIS driver 7.5 degree on a house of forged whuppn shaft you ask about the driver head - its light, feel solid, hasnt broken yet, looks good and performs well go get one! kenny
  9. golfchief what you have said is so typical of wise ass know it alls in golf forums who probably suck at life never mind golf the irony of you telling me to get my facts straight is delicious! i DO have my facts correct! My driver is between 4.5 degrees and 7.5 degrees. The shorter driver i have is at 10 degrees and this is used as a 3 wood!! Maybe i have more than 1 driver and all of them are between 4.5 degrees and 7.5 degrees and maybe i only carry 1 when i play golf, maybe! i use a callaway bore through titanium driver as a 3 wood replacement, its 10 degrees and its a doddle to hit of the deck why pros come up short on par 5 s is a mystery to me, i wouldnt let it happen k
  10. favourite gotta be drive needing big carry over anything (i only remember the good ones!) check out kingsacre golf course just outside edinburgh its great it has a par 5 where you can LAND drive on the green worst shot is the short downhill downwind putt that breaks away from me - THEY AGE YOU kenny
  11. read an article recently in a golf mag, cant remember which one, it was by the head clubfitter at the national golf centre at the belfry he said that 9 out of 10 golfers who currently use drivers in single figure lofts would benefit by going to 10 or higher k
  12. i usually accept that the ball speed is correct on these machines as temp, wind etc are not going to affect that. 175mph struck well should be around 295yards to 300 carry not quite tiger but not that far off! kenny
  13. i have 2 drivers now, when i play golf, one at between 4.5 degrees and 7.5 and another at 10 degrees - (that is my 3 wood) do what i do and you def wont need a 3 wood kenny
  14. excellent drill is this get a weighted club - i use an old pitching wedge with a half kilo weight taped around it at the head and do slow half swings rotating your forearm as much as possible, muscle memory and help with power - i would do both arms if you are going to do the exercise a lot for the driver, stand further away from the ball, practise swing with 1 club or 2 if you strong at waist height then feel the power of the draw kenny
  15. maybe you are as we say in scotland just a big jesse
  16. its 18 on lpga tour morgan pressel had to beg! k
  17. keep your head still - that is nonsense that will loose you distance unless you are currently all over the place the guy probably gained distance because he put in the practice. the way you swing looking in a mirror and the way you swing while looking at a golf ball are different - you cannot look at both places at once - you can guarantee that your swing in the mirror will look great - it may give you confidence but keep your head still is the worst advice in the world! might as well say keep your left arm straight. kenny
  18. get your driver properly fitted to flatten your swing use a long pole - 5 or 6 feet - will ensure proper coil try swinging a weighted club - this will encourage you to complete your swing fully your fastest swings occur when you are not tense - so relax to prevent a weak fade try forearm roations and extensions with a weighted club for dynamic power from the legs try clock squats with a small weight dont concentrate on arm speed concentrate on body speed k
  19. drive 8 iron assuming good hits and no run k
  20. yep gets very airborne, so much so that i have ordered a 6 degree head - its been launching at 15 and 16 degrees which a little too much k
  21. house of forged longdrive whuppn shaft 48" with geek dct 7.5 degree its a lovely club
  22. hi my first post and it will no doubt spawn a reaction. i reckon that many many ams can hit a golf ball the same as pga tour pros - you dont have to hit it straight as an am and you probably obsess over distance - why would a low handicap golfer who didnt make the tour be any shorter than a tour golfer - just lacking the ability to finish - i havent read all the posts as i would most likely get fired but, why assume that someone you have never met cannot hit the ball 300yards, i reckon you are far more likely to post if you can than if you cant anyhow i am in central scotland and i am one of the 4 (currently) who is in the 321+ bracket. usually at a loose end on fridays during day so if anybody around looking for a knock or driving range near edinburgh drop me a message i tend to like the lightest shaft available at 255cpm i played golf 3 times last year trying to play 4 this year!! k
