  1. He should be on the next Big Break, once he gets his new Rocketbladez of course.
  2. It sounds like at this point in time your golf skills are purely theoretical. Playing golf on a real course, including counting every stroke from the tee shot until the ball lands in bottom of the cup, is much more than reproducing shots made at the driving range. If I projected my driving range prowess to on-course scoring I'd be one of the 25 guys who just got their tour cards. You're suggesting there's much more to golf than driving distance. No kidding. Good luck.
  3. Good luck. Adidas always seem too narrow. Had really good luck with Dry Joys (or were they Green Joys?). A great shoe for the money, IF THEY FIT!!
  4. He needs to shave a few more strokes off his index to hit your wall.
  5. Oh, that's different (slightly). Your first post with quotation marks made it sound like that was your conversation approximately word for word.
  6. Those look like something you'd find at a truck stop. That's okay though since some of my favourite audio books on casette were purchased at truck stops.
  7. When I hear someone say another player takes golf "too seriously" it's rarely about them making an effort to learn more about the swing and be a better player. It's usually made about a hothead mid-tantrum. I'd say Brian from the Big Break takes golf too seriously.
  8. Okay, since the original question was about whether or not multiple brands bothered us, I can honestly say it has in the past, but I'm working on it. There have to be at least 3 different brands in my bag . If there are only 2 brands I can't stop thinking about replacing the ones in the minority. If there's a mish mash then I can pretend each one is the best possible selection for me and just go play.
  9. The next textbook response is that, assuming your FIR stayed constant, would having approaches 20 yards shorter improve your GIR or PTTH numbers (I took a stab at that last acronym). I found that being longer and in the rough is a risk reward decision. On some tracks it's worth it and on others being farther back in the middle of the fairway with full shot is the smarter play.
  10. A lot of guys do this, even TaylorMade, Nike, Callaway and Titleist guys, but they're on mini-tours and such. It might be more common with Mizuno players since they hang onto their old sets and from version to version they play and feel very similar.
  11. ? Are you suggesting Dan's hour counter should be titled. "Hours Wasted"?
  12. True it was my mistake and hence why I posted that picture (which would work for "125" in the numbers thread).
  13. Let's see, you have the most popular brand of woods, a great brand of irons, probably (possibly) the most storied brand of wedges, and one of the top 3 brands of putters in recent years, and people snicker at you? Who are these people?
  14. Hey everyone who wants to keep on re-posting my comment as if I was saying nobody could ever swing at 125mph (idiots), here's the post I was responding to.
  15. Great news!! Could you take my post out of context some more please?
  16. I wasn't a James fan once I saw that ridiculous chipping style. I was getting back on his side after the first couple challenges this week, and then came his train wreck at 180 yards in the rough. Even the position he was hitting from was a bad idea. Had way more than enough of Brian. Getting used to Chan's antics. Next week's show might change that. Rick . . . Rick should just zip it. Mark - no personality but he's an immunity challenge machine. Squatch - mountain of a man with hands of a surgeon. I'd love to see him tee it up once on Tour next year. Why not?!? Anthony - getting better. Clutch. Like to see him in the final 4.
  17. I'm not following your rant here - I threw out a number I've read from Golf Canada which is a way to estimate club head speed whereas you posted something much more detailed and probably more accurate since it includes 3 angles of attach? Would I have to say bunch of phoney thank you's or include smileys and stuff to not be considered argueing with you? Aren't you a ray of sunshine.
  18. Were all the brand name range balls you pocketed shorter or just the ProVs?
  19. I'd guess that being serious about golf is rare in Canada.
  20. Your chart didn't show up for me, but I see it now. It looks very clinical.
  21. Got tired of hitting the middle of the green and spinning back to the front of the green?
