Yea it doesn’t suck. I didn’t score well but most of it came down to short game and putting. I had 3 holes I can directly blame bad long game shots on. I’m just trying to hedge my bets. If I don’t make it as a professional golfer, I could be a fitness model as a backup plan.

It's been a while since I practiced. Injuries compounded last year and I could play but I didn't want to make anything worse with repetitive stress so I shut down practicing basically in early summer. Just kind of getting back into things now and I'm not surprised to see I've regressed a bit. Hitting the ball well enough to get 8 GIR yesterday but the misses can be really bad - tops and toe shanks. Just settled right back into the constant problem areas in my swing, mainly the wrists/club position at A4 and not recentering properly. Going to focus on getting solid contact consistently back before anything else.

Yea the first season was great. I never played the second game so I am basically blind to most of the story (with some exceptions). I have to figure out how to watch it though since I don’t have cable anymore.

First one. If it’s not some bs “mistake” like I should have made that 12’ putt for birdie and actually correctable then it’s a learning experience and it means I’m good enough to win. I don’t play the club championships at my county courses because the best I can hope for is the second option and I kind of don’t see the point in that.

Played Green Knoll today, made three birdies. #10, #14, and #16 knocked off the away composite.

Knocked off the first birdie of the year on #15 at Quail Brook GC, what I’m calling my home course again. Good drive followed by a perfect 3W. Didn’t think I could reach the green in two and almost did. Chipped to 5’ and made the putt. Didn’t birdie that one all year in 2024 and figures it’s the first one I get in 2025.

I played today, it felt like 14° with wind chill. There was definitely a point or two in the round when I questioned my decision-making skills.

The club I choose entirely depends on the situation and what kind of shot I want to hit. I’ll hit 9i from 50 yards if that low runner is what I’m looking for, for example.

I thought I had this today. I hit a good drive right down the middle on #12 and a 3/4 SW to 20’ and made the birdie. On #15 I hit a good drive and cut the dogleg, pitched it to 6’ but I lipped that one out.

I thought I had already knocked #1 off the composite list so I didn’t bother posting about it, but apparently I didn’t. I birdied #1 at Spooky Brook on 10/6. It’s a short par 5; I flared my drive a little right but far enough to get under the trees that would normally block an approach from that angle. I hit PW to 20’ but missed the eagle putt. Front 9 is done on the composite list. Only #12 and #15 left to go.

Yea I’m the same way. All their shoes are pretty good but I just like the OG and their derivatives so much more. I’m probably just going to stick with them from now on.

Ok great, now do it again. And again. And again. And then change variables. Ambient temperature, distance of the phone, surrounding environment. Do it with different people swinging the club. Did you test only your 6 iron or did you try different clubs at different speeds? You can't perform one test and declare your results conclusive.

But it will change from session to session, from one person’s location to the next, etc. If your goal is to figure out X db = Y mph in swing speed to share with others, that matters.

That just brings me to my original thought that I didn’t post: just test it. If he’s so confident in his proposal that he’s dismissing all the criticisms being posted, then why even ask for feedback? I guess I just don’t understand the point of the topic.

I know there are a lot of people on the site with science and engineering backgrounds here so @p1n9183 is getting a lot of questions about how this theory would even work, but I’m going to ask the obvious one here… why? Like what is the purpose if you already have a speed radar, even if such a thing as you proposed was feasible?

This happened to me once. Hit 6i on a par 3 tee shot and the head went flying 30 yards towards the green. Hit the shot to 10’ though so it was more hilarious than embarrassing. I played with a friend once who replaced his own driver shaft. On the second hole he teed off and the head flew farther than his ball. We like to remind him of that once in a while 😜
