  1. A-effing-men brother!
  2. Not a bad guess, but I have a theory...Lori has a huge crush on Christina but can't act on it (for several reasons). Hence the negative obsession with Chris.
  3. Oh, I've played Avila CC as well! Great sand in the bunkers. Wonderful condition.
  4. bump...reading through this thread, it's apparent that most people feel like the FT-i is more forgiving (ie - ball goes straight) but the Superquad is longer. I was wondering if anybody has any remarks about the FT-i tour . Is it more workable? Difference is distance? Anything? Thanks!
  5. My personal top five in order of sweetness: 1. Crystal Downs 2. Sand Hills 3. Pebble Beach 4. Oakland Hills 5. Black Wolf Run - River Course
  6. FAKE!!! Don't not buy this wonderful clubs. They make game you worser then ever befor.
  7. I wrapped my 5-iron around a tree during a tournament round in high-school. Not my finest moment...
  8. Be sure to insert the grip-end first!
  9. Yeah, I think we were talking about workability...not the ability to avoid disaster due to a mis-hit shot. They are related in some ways but certainly not the same. Anyhow...like I said before. Give me a Callaway Big Bertha iron or a forged muscle back and I'll hit any shot you want with either.
  10. I feel sorry for the kid in your avatar...I'm assuming it's yours.
  11. I'm not sure what they mean either. I was at a demo day last week and hit a whole bunch of irons - mostly for fun. One thing I like to do besides hitting "normal" shots is try to hit big sweeping hooks and fades, just to check workability and what not. Once again, not big surprises. I could hit just as big a hook or fade with Callaway X-20's as I could with Titliest AP-2' or Mizuno MP-57's. Again, for me, it has everything to do with how open or closed my clubface is and maybe deviating just a bit either inside-out or outside-in depending on what shot I'm trying to pull off. For me, club-face size makes no difference.
  12. I don't disagree with the above responses. However, regardless of how large or "forgiving" an iron is, any shot can be sliced/hooked at will by either opening or closing the club-face and making a normal swing. I don't care how forgiving a club is, if I want to hit a severe hook I shut down the clubface. The opposite is true for a slice.
  13. I agree. VJ absolutely IS black. It has nothing to do with where you are from. It's odd how some people think you or your ancestry must have roots in Africa to be black...or Europe to be white, etc.
  14. I guess we'll just agree to disagree on this one (god, I hate using that phrase). Your initial post was creepy regardless of how innocent your intentions may be.
  15. Seconded.
  16. #13 baby! Who doesn't love risk/reward at its finest??
  17. Perhaps I'm missing something here which would explain all the enabling going on in this thread??? Nietzshe also said, "God is dead."
  18. I personally observed Justin Leonard being a crude rude jerk during a practice round at the 1996 U.S. Open. There weren't a lot of people around and I'm not sure he knew anyone was listening or watching. Anyhow, a lot of time has gone by so maybe he's matured since then. I'd like to think so because he carries himself well on the course and is a great player.
  19. Am I the only one that thinks this is a bit creepy? This is fantasy fullfillment and nothing more. You start by titling the thread, "I'm in love with Lorena Ochoa (sounds a lot like "I Gotta Crush on Obama")...it's true." I mean come on! The plan was a corner her at the tournament to ask her out? Give me a break (pun intended). Then you googled her name and checked MySpace. Seriously, that's weird. I'm sorry...it just is. Take points from my rep or whatever...it's still weird in my book.
  20. Just to show you that everybody is unique, I prefer my 52 and 56 degree Mizuno MR wedges over my Cleveland 60 deg. wedge. I feel that my distance and trajectory control is better than ever and I love they way the MR's chip and pitch. I'm thinking of replacing my Cleveland with another MR. But that's just me.
  21. Three -One pair of casual Nike "tennis-shoe" lookin' things that look good with a bright solid polo and shorts. -One pair of brown on brown Nike Air's that look great with almost anything (my favorite pair) -One pair of fancy high brow dry-joys that are white with brown trim.
  22. Wow! That guy does some strong work! Very impressive.
  23. What iacas said about about S-300's being about a PX 5.8 is something I've heard before as well. I have no idea what equivalent PX shaft would be for DG regular or x-stiff. But that's the point of the PX's isn't it - standardization. One regular flex DG shaft might be a 5.0. The next a 5.1, etc. etc. That's the beauty of Royal Precision .
  24. Stopped at a course just west of Omaha called Quarry Oaks. Very nice course along the Platte River. Lots of elevation changes, side-hill lies, and narrow greens. Golf Digest gives it 4.5 stars and I think that's about right. Played one of my most consistent and best all-time rounds today. At the turn, my Dad told me he was having fun watching me. He's never said anything like that before. Played from the tips (7010 yards) course rating/slope: 75.1/143 Today's round: 35-38 = 73 (par 71) 1 birdie 14 pars 3 bogeys 13 GIR 30 putts with no three putts Very steady round on a great course! I would recommend Quarry Oaks to anybody passing through the Omaha area - right off I-80!
  25. Played a new course for me. Wasn't bad. Didn't do anything spectacular. Probably could have converted a few bogeys into pars with course knowledge, but that's to be expected. My loan birdie was an adventure. Big tee shot, but pushed a bit right into the trees. Hit a punch 9-iron that hooked about 30 yards and ran up the apron to just short of the green. Pitched in from there. That's why you never give up on a hole! Slope - 132 Course Rating - 72 39-39 = 78 1 birdie 10 pars 7 bogeys
