I was in Kaui and Maui the end of last month/beginning of this month. I brought my sticks and only played once. Luckily it was at the Kapalua Bay course. It was pretty darn fun for sure!!! We played the blue tees and 3 out of the 4 par 5's i got on in two, and that yielded only one birdie!!! the greens there are so hard to read and the grass is strange. i had 5 3 putts that day and shot an 86. Thank god im back to putting on the bent grass here in WA but Hawaii is always a blast to visit! have a great time!!!!

That is quite the impressive streak! this past weekend I had quite the up and down 3 hole stretch. Started off of the 5th hole, a 520 yd par 5, hit my drive a bit to the right and caught a good bounce off of some dry grass and ended up only 160 yds to the hole for my second shot (360 off the tee for you slow pokes out there hit a 9 iron 3 feet to the hole and made eagle. next was a par 3, 205 yds hit my tee shot out of bounds and made a triple bogey 6!!! the the next hole is a short 285 yd uphilll par 4 with trouble EVERYWHERE....i drove the green and missed my eagle putt but had a 3in. tap in for birdie. it was pretty damn wild!

HAHAHA! Thats hilarious You never know...his flux capacitor could be running at 1.21 gigawatts, and therefore could easily go into the future! -
I think it all depends on personal preference. i for one love my gap wedge! i hit my pw about 150yds +/- a couple yds, and my gap is a 52º and i hit it about 128 yds...perfect!

I could not agree more!!! i played China creek on Friday and they were BY FAR the worst greens i have EVER seen in my life. I'm talking grade AA crap! a couple of the greens (browns) had less grass than an Iraqi soccer field. I would never pay for a round of golf there, way over priced and I can think of over a dozen courses i would rather play around the area that are less than half the price, some 1/3 the price! The views are ok, but I personally dont play golf for the views...seriously...who cares about the view?...good courses create their own views that you fall in love with. after a round i dont say "dude, you remember seeing mt. rainier on #14....it was beautiful!" i say "dude, that was a SICK shot you made back on that par 5 when you knocked in on it two!" anyways...enough blabbing....dont pay for that course!

bought it, hit 5 shots at the range with it, loved it, gave it away because its non-conforming (unless you have arthritis, which i dont). it felt great, but i didnt want to get used to it so i gave it away to a buddy.

i have never done it myself, but i saw a guy named "Roy McAvoy" par out the back nine with only a 7 iron. he was rock!

-
holy crap Batman! thats crazy!!! my buddy works at that course. do you know Jeremy?
-
Dude....I HATE that!!!!! It happens way more than it should...I just laugh to myself and think "is this guy serious? shut your pie hole!" granted i would not be to happy working for pennies a day and driving a hoopty.

take a knife and cut slits into your shoes just above the sole. this will allow the water to drain more easily out of your boots when you're in the jungle. seriously though....that is some hardcore sweat going on to get trech foot playing golf. you did say it was 80º-90º, so that is pretty hot for sure. what kind of shoes do you have? you might look into some special moister wicking socks too.

Ive never player Newcastle because it seems way over priced. However...I got into a best ball tourny on the China Creek course going down this Friday, being hosted by a vendor that my company uses. I get to play for free so i'm sure i'll like it but yeah...bucking up for Chambers is for sure worth it. i love playing that course! they have the July special going on now for twilight times that is only like $75 for P.C. residents.

Having worked at a couple of shops while in school, i can understand that if the guy timing you was trying to get off work and he had to wait until everyone was off the course, he might be irritated. he still had no right treating you and your friends like dirt. had it been me, i would have first asked him what the rush is and see if he is waiting to get off work. if he didnt have a good answer for it, i would have ripped him a new @sshole with my 9-iron!

its free and at a nice course....no brainer for me...im in!

A few people forgot to mention that you should DEFINATELY try before you make your decision. 2008 Cobra Pro MB/CB Titleist Z-Muscle/Z-Blend These were my top choices before i decided to go with the Pro CB. I would give them all a shot...I bet you'll like them! -
What flex iron shafts are you using?

Highly mod'ed 87 Civic DX. Ive taken in to some car shows and everyone loves it! im pushing about 450 bhp at the fronts with about 23 psi boost. and dont worry....i had Folgers permission to use their coffee can and NASA's Saturn 5 stage 1 rocket booster

I definately prefer to play from tees that are +7000 yds. My average drive is around 285, and i hit my irons pretty long too (pw/150yds, 3 iron/225). I played yesterday at a new course in WA The Home Course and the par 5 fifth is 550. i went driver, 6 iron to the green (missed green 10' right, but pin high). Playing shorter than 7000 i usually have 3 iron, or driver off of the tee and always have a sand/gap into the hole....kinda gets boring hitting the same clubs over and over again

http://www.thewsga.org http://www.thepnga.org I like the updates on local events and the points standings and stuff (things you mentioned you were already working on). They also list all of the member clubs championships/tournaments, so its a good place to go for that info too.
