Yeah I'm also gonna try to tee off around 7am. I usually play in the afternoons, and have no friends in the area that play golf really so I'll be paired up with some random people as per usual.

I've been playing on and off for 10 years now and have never been more committed than now. I hit some great shots, but I seem to have the same problems creep in. Sometimes my head will move ahead of the ball on my back swing. This is super easy to tell and not my main issue. I'll get to the top and be way to quick and my head will go forward with my hips causing me to come over the top. I need a good drill to keep my head back while I start the down swing with my hips. If I avoid that my shots are great, but my other major mistake is holding onto the angle between my arm and club shaft too much (especially with driver) resulting in my hands being entirely too far ahead of the ball and an open club face hurting my drives the most. I break nearly every tee while hitting driver but my good ones are still about 270 right now (still pretty wet here in Washington). I still get way to many shots that start at my target line but slice way right of that. Not all the time but what can I do to help. Right now it's just slow motion swings in front of a mirror 100+ everyday almost.

God you are a shitlord mr wiggles. Lots of things used to be crimes that today we'd laugh at. Keep using that bullshit crutch, totally overlooking the fact that it isn't a crime for millions of americans and not every law on the books is totally moral because the infallible government says so.

I smoke before every round but never on the course unless it's dead. Makes me focus better and I'd consider myself a above average golfer. Hoping to go under par this year for 18. I'd never want to put my playing partners in that position. Btw not illegal for me, it's hilarious to read the stigma still associated with marijuana use demonstrated in some of the posts. I've always been an athlete and I think marijuana use has done nothing but help me.

So I've been playing golf off and on since high school 10 years ago. I broke my leg and stopped playing for two years sold everything, then this winter I got the itch again. I got a set of Titleist 735 cm's, Titleist 907D1 driver and 906F fairway woods. I was at the golf store today and was hitting some different drivers. My best current drive is around 270 and with the new driver I hit a few out at 285 (without a fitting) so I know I'm loosing distance and control. I'm gonna go ahead and get a new driver fitted with the right shaft for me. My real question is about my irons. I'm a decent player, shot even over 9 holes today (best since I've came back), and I was hitting some different irons a lot further on the launch monitor than my current ones. I'm a titleist guy and need a little more forgiveness so I was thinking the Ap1's or 2's. I just don't know if it's worth it dropping a lot of money on new irons. I'm happy with my 3 and 5 wood, I'm hitting my 3 wood out over 250 sometimes. My current 7 iron I hit maybe 160 and I was trying a couple different ones and on the monitor it said 170 or 175. As those number reliable? What other irons should I be looking at that may be cheaper than the AP's.

3. Yesterday actually. One of which was a chip in. Thanks RMG club for the opportunity to play so much golf. Shot 75 though. Still ironing out the mistakes.

Saw that and caught a couple camel toe shots that had me laughing my ass off. I'll be watching.

Congrats on the job man. I'm just coming off an injury that annoyed me into quitting golf altogether. I've played my first rounds in a year and a half the last couple weeks. Of course all my old tendencies came out, but I've been video recording myself making small changes over the last month and honestly the lack of muscle memory has made adopting these changes easier I think. I've struggled on the course, but am starting to get the feel back and I've hit some of the best shots I've ever hit my last two driving range sessions. Bottom line I know where you are coming from but after getting out on the course (and struggling) I can't figure out why I ever wanted to stop playing to begin with.

What does your screen name / username come from?

I have the same tag on a number of forums, I grew up in Ocean Shores, Wa. Google the cascadia subduction zone, we had tsunami "evactuations" all the time and I have always been fasicanated. Name just kinda stuck. -
Most people I play with pretty much keep to themselves, most of the time asking me what I hit or using my gps for yardages (which I do with anyone that asks, I never give info that someone may not want).

I also play the nike one tour and love the feel, only wished they spinned a bit more for me. I'm going to be giving these a shot whenever I start playing again, when the days are a little longer. Just read the review and they sound great, I have played pro1x's and nike one tours like them both but these sound really good. Well see. -
That is really shitty man, I have zero personal experience with this. But, I think, the airline should be responsible for the entire amount to replace everything. It is their job to get your bags onto the right planes and too your destination, and I'd imagine it's a pretty penny to bring a golf bag with you on a flight now a days. That is their responsibility and they should be trying to make it right for you. I know you'll get a lot of grief and it sounds like in the end you'll only get a fraction of what it'll take to replace all your stuff, to me that's bullshit. I do feel sorry for you though, I would be so pissed if my whole bag was just gone. When I was racing motorcycles across country one of my team mates bags was lost, he got his back a couple days later after the races where over but he just had to use borrowed gear. There was probably over 2k in the bag worth of riding gear, helmets, boots, ect. So there is hope of getting your stuff back, I hope it works out for you.

Hahaha, I was thinking that the whole time while reading that. Seriously though, my wife is supportive but not to that level. She loves that I love to play, and we both love that our 4 1/2 year old daughter is really starting to get into hitting the range with daddy. That part is cool, I just think it's important to realize that everyone deserves to pursue a passion in life. I let my wife have her time, it's mutual respect.

I grow up in White Salmon, across the river from Hood River. Play over at Indian Creek every time I go home. I now live Bonney Lake, Wa pretty close to Puyallup.

I seriously was thinking about it about a month ago. I was a switch hitter in baseball, through a ball right handed but always hit better from the left side. I also write left handed. Like a lot of players right handed clubs were around and that's what I learned on. I've never hit a full shot left handed, but swung a left handed club some. The only reason I decided not to go for it is because I didn't wanna drop a bunch of money on it. But maybe getting a lefty 7 iron and trying it out. My father in law was exactly like me, he just switched maybe a year ago to lefty and is already increased his game considerably. He was like a 7 I would say he's around a 4 or 5 at the end of last year skill wise. So it worked for him.

In search of a swing thought
xTsUnAmI replied to blackxpress's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'm in a pretty similar situation to yours. Trying to teach myself to lead with my hips, but the swing thought that has me doing this the best is "set your wrists". For me, I get to the top and my wrists aren't straight but I'm not close to having the club parallel to the ground. I never had much problems as long as I have my upper half follow my bottom half. By making sure I "set my wrists" (whatever that actually means) I actually start my hips before the wrist setting action is done. Basically it gives me a mechanism to have my arms lag behind my body. This has worked great for me, last 3 trips to the range I've eliminated my pull hook/big driver fades and by having more lag in my wrists I've gained some yardage as well. Hope my shitty explanation makes sense. -
I saw a guy trying to merge onto the freeway a while back, the merge lane isn't long and the freeway comes around a corner right there so you can't see who's merging till really late. Anyways, he must have been going 20mph and got to the end of the merge lane and just stopped. Traffic was so heavy at that point he probably sat there for a good while like an idiot.

I agreed with everything else you listed but this is my biggest pet peeve. I've been to a lot of states and I swear Washington is the worst state for this, people figure they can hang out there doing 59 in a 60 and eff you. go around. I hate it, it's dangerous. I can't hang around these people on their phones, I get by them period. I've never been in an accident, but I've come damn close because of absolute ignorance. I firmly believe we need to make getting your license about 100x harder. You get very little important training it seems, sure you can tell someone till their blue in the face to turn into a slide or pump your brakes if you are sliding on ice but until that person is in that position you don't know how they are gonna react. I'm a private pilot, nothing big, but the training needs to be on that level. I had to practice actually how to recover from a stall instead of being told. Same thing with driving, you need to experience sliding around a little in a controlled environment so you can react. It would also get a lot of the absolute incompetent idiots off the effing road so those of us that actually know how to drive can get around. I also drive a class B flat bed @ work occasionally. Some truckers are morons too, but what people do to trucks is so dumb. I've been cut off in downtown Seattle big time, while I was fully loaded and traffic stopped and basically had no control of my truck, luckily I'm smart/lucky enough to control my slide onto the shoulder. I seriously wanted to get out and beat the shit out of this guy. Or here's another pet peeve, people that have to merge onto the freeway at 35mph while traffic is going 70-75. What goes on in a person's brain that makes them think this a good idea?

Do you live on the Lake Wilderness golf course? I lived out in Maple Valley last year and played there a ton, I swear I played with you. Nice swing btw. -
Just going from memory, I have a friend who played in college and should be a long driver he hits it 340 easy, the biggest drive I've ever seen him drive a 360 yard par 4, but his biggest was 410 yards on a some par 6 like 700 yards in Spokane. If I remember right he had at least 25mph wind directly to his back. His club speed is 127, he's freakishly long I've yet to see someone in person that hit the ball better period. Really good player.

Got a little time on a nice simulator. Seems I was swinging inside out 10-15 degrees, most my misses are hooks or pull hooks. Started taking the club more "straight back" (still inside out somewhat I'm sure) and hopefully that'll fix my misses to the left. I need to get my swing consistent, repeatable. Consistency is my biggest issue.

You know what I find hilarious, the fodder this gives to the Tiger haters that were already out there. Maybe cause it's golf, maybe it's cause a black man screwed over a white women, but nobody cared when Wilt screwed 10,000 girls. Or Mj, the list goes on. American's amuse me at times like this, throw that first stone. I also find it ironic that, in my mind, 70-90% at least of every man put in Tigers exact situation would have these problems or worse. We have no idea what living that life is like, look at Michael Jackson.

I miss the days when John F Kennedy had one of his mistress' sing for his birthday and nobody gave an eff. Imagine, from birth you are told you are the best there ever was. You win everything you have ever tried, every goal accomplished the best in the world at your sport. And every city a new girl trying to get with you. I'm not saying his cheating was ok, but I can understand how that would happen. The complex he must have is amazing. It reminds me of A-Rod who I heard had his face painted on mutliple life size portraits of minitards on the cealing and shit. You get it in your head you are immune to any scrutiny and can't get away with it all. I've always like athletes that handle the media and given this situation Tiger is doing it right in that regard I think.

This whole thing has gotten to me from day 1. Think of Tiger however you want, but the fact the world gets to judge your actions is extremely unfair. We have no insight into his private life, his feelings, and I'm certainty not gonna pass judgment especially for something as ridiculous as this. He had an affair or 5, what a shocker. But it's been covered on everything from national news, 24hour news, I'm getting breaking news texts from CNN. The media drives this guy into the ground, and we all know the story they'll be redemption but he has to play their game. If he killed a person drunk, beat the shit out of his wife, shot somebody there's a story but to chastise a person for something millions of Americans do is so hypocritical it's not even funny. Does this erase all the good Tiger does in the community, and for kids and charity? I guess it's just our media that pisses me off, infotainment.

knock on wood man, hope you don't jynx yourself. Next year I need to hunker down and really work on my putting, really the only thing that holds me back. Glad to see the practice is paying off.
